You want one who writes every couple weeks instead?

Dont read the blogs, read my posts, you'll get all the insight you need to be a better hockey and Canucks fan.

I concur. I do not always agree with Ian, but he is allowed his opinion, and no matter what he says people will disagree. I do like and appreciate the daily blogs. He has also said numerous times if someone wants to try to go ahead and send him a blog and he would post it.

How about.....

Daniel Sedin for Rick Nash
Henrik Sedin for Zach Parise and a 1st rounder
Alex Burrows and Alex Edler for Shea Weber
Ryan Kesler for Cory Perry
David Booth for Tuomo Ruutu and Bryan Allen
Chris Higgins for Travis Moen
Cody Hodgson for Luke Schenn
Jannik Hansen for Hal Gill
Max Lapierre and Andrew Alberts for Ales Hemsky and Sam Gagner
Kevin Bieksa for Shane Doan
Dan Hamhuis for Derek Roy and Paul Gaustad
Sami Salo to LTIR

So you'd end up with ....

Parise Doan Nash
Ruutu Roy Perry
Raymond Gagner Hemsky
Moen Malhotra Gaustad

Schenn Weber
Ballard Gill
Allen Rome
Alberts

Luongo
Schneider

Some bold and surprising moves to be sure, especially when you take the salary cap into consideration. But just think of all the jersey sales revenue Authentix would rake in.

How many of these are UFA's and RFA's we would have to resign? (be able to)
Parise, Weber, Ruutu, Moen, Gil, Hemsky,Gaustad, Doan, Raymond, Rome, Schneider, Allen, Gagner
Team looks good for right now, but I think we would be blowing our load to early and be left with nothing for next year.

That would be wonderful for us, but there's not a chance in hell they could sell that to fans in Chicago. It would end up costing Bowman his job. No matter how bad they are at the moment, Keith is their number one defenceman and even though Crawford is struggling he's still young.

In that market (and perhaps rightly so) Luongo is thought of as little more than a punchline to most jokes about the Canucks. And while Ballard might actually be a nice fit for them, he's still going to be seen as a $4MM regular healthy scratch for a disrespected rival team.

There's also Luongo's NTC to think about. I don't get the feeling that he's ready to pull the chute and go to a different market that has even less chance of winning a championship than Vancouver. That's why all this talk of moving him to Tampa Bay or Florida is premature. If he has a disastrous playoffs and is getting roasted in this market then he may need to move on before next season. But that's the only way I see him leaving unfortunately.

You have really drank the kool aid on Lou. Low cap hit with a buy out in a couple of years and right now he is in the top 6 or 7 in the NHL. Most teams would take him in a flash, Sheesh. Have you looked at his numbers? Goalies do not win on their own over a long period of time. Right now he is lights out and this Spring he will win the Cup. Canucks have obviously made a concious effort not to try their best every game. They WILL show up for the playoffs.

Actually he's 17th in both major goaltending categories... But who cares about facts/statistics/being accurate when you're making a point, right? Just accuse the other guy of drinking kool aid...

Nobody with 1/2 a brain really gives a @#$% about his regular season numbers anyways... Even his biggest haters (like me) assumed he'd light it up in the regular season (he hasn't)... What we're really concerned about is what happens to him in the post season.

A 7 game series against 1 team who has scouted every physical and mental weakness he has all season long... Opposition players and fans are able to get into his head via the key he leaves under the mat... He's as predictable as Vancouver rain when the going gets tough. THAT is the issue.
