in the long run, they were.

had they not REACTED to cammy's comments, they could've driven up his price and traded him at the deadline for way more than bourque.

keep in mind, cammy can be sold on the belief he's a great playoff performer.

- Pen15

He's had one great playoff, Cammy had not lived up to expectations in the regualr season, so getting a cheaper similar and more physical player was a good deal for the habs.

and what would it cost us to trade for him at the deadline?
- Pen15

You won't get him at the deadline. You might get Harding though, but he's going to cost you a bit.

- shinebox

of course he didn't....he was playing on a smurf team.

cammy needs to play with bigger players....just take a look at his linemates during his most successful years.

that's more believable than bourque who has never had an 80pt season.
- Pen15

Sure, believe what you need to, cause you do need to. How does help you leaf fans find your back up goalie again? It doesnt, but it does deflect the fact nicely doesnt it? So yeah cammy is the greatest player to never show up since Kovalev, and both will have 80 pt seasons again for the remainder of thier careers.

that's my point....the pheonix fan seems to think a guy like that won't cost you much at the deadline....

and the habs had to get bigger einstein, unless you can find stats that cammy got as big as bourque did, and will have more 80 pt seasons....

YES! dear god yes. you see this guy with a good shot, big, and a decent skater and you think... sweet... top 3 forward for sure.

LOL!! wrong!

guy is invisable when you need something from him. He's consistantly losing puck battles to smaller players... and, and

for the love of god, don't expect him to finish a check! I'm pretty sure he thinks he's made of glass.

you're making NO sense...

i've done nothing but be open and candid with my opinion on the leafs backup goalie....

you on the other hand do nothing but deflect when you're asked to give your opinion on what you think a backup goalie will cost at the deadline.

At the deadline they'll cost more than in the offseason. (Which is when Halak was traded) The problem is that Chicago's looking, Detroit probably wants a better backup, Leafs need a goalie, Philly needs 3 more.

The guy who will be cheaper at the deadline is probably Khabibulin.

based on cap hit...which is how it's calculated....you're saving less than 3M a season.

sorry....i thought we're talking cap hit...given that we're in a cap era, assuming any conversation about cap savings would involve the CAP hit...and not how much his cheque actually says.

you keep changing the subject....

would you like to talk about:

1) the leafs backup goalie that they WON'T get come trade deadline

or

2) cammy being a better hockey player all around than rene bourque
