Nice comeback BLOAT.
- philco28

Thanks. I'm intellectual that way. I'm kinda the thinking-man's troll. So, I say the hawks finish 7th this year and the nucks finish 2nd. We meet in the 1st round and the nucks win in five. Whatcha think about that phil?

Besides health, isnt this the same team that won more games than any other team in December? Can it be said that teams have found a formula to beat us?

You know, I underestimate them every year and they make me regret that. If they stay healthy then the west is theirs.

They are coming from third parties.

Kane has allegedly been pouty over moves back and forth from center to wing. He and Toews are not the "pals" they have been promoted as. Different personalities.

- John Jaeckel

From the people I talk to Sharp also. He has said he does not want to play center. So we have two stars dictating to the team where they want to play.

Define what you mean by this. Replacing the coach?

Hysterical?

- John Jaeckel

Not a coaching change. I meant a replacing Stan, his entire staff, and coach two weeks from the trade deadline is hysterical....

Coaching change? Fine. If Lou Lamorello can fire a coach in first place two weeks before the playoffs then really anyone can be canned. But the replacement better be someone who can come in and get immediate results. Carlyle for instance.

But again. these are BOLD moves. I even put the word BOLD in BOLD to show just how BOLD these moves are. And when exactly, has Stan Bowman ever been BOLD?

More than once, he has BOLDLY put his foot in his mouth by BOLDLY stating as fact things that never came to be. I'm not afraid of offer sheets, etc.

Hi Blackhawk fans,

Just flew in from Las Vegas ( And boy are my arms tired......).

So?........Did I miss anything over the weekend?

Actually, managed to catch most of the Phoenix game from the sports bar inside the Hard Rock Hotel. ( That place is like living inside Wayne's World.) Not the best game I ever saw. I kept asking myself " If they acquired X, this team would be winning this game right now...and I couldn't come up with an answer. It really doesn't matter wo the Blackhawks trade for. it really doesn't. The team will go as the top 6 - Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp, keith & Seabrook go, End of story. Now how you get those top 6 back to the level they were playing at.....I don't know. Bench one maybe? Trade one one? Ehhh Stan's never done that. Perhaps they just get a second wind.

I go back to last year's 24/7. The Capitals- similar to this year's Hawks right? Big expectations, horrendous losing streak, speculation over the coach getting canned- are losing to the Rangers and Knuble goes apesh*t in the locker room between periods. They win the next period but lose the game. They eventually crush Ottawa and wind up salvaging their season. Kind of needs to happen here. But who goes Knuble in the locker room? besides Toews of course. I was hoping it would be Brunette or O.D. because that's kind of why I thought they were signed. But they seem awfully quiet. So does Mayers. Sharp or Seabs would be my candidates. Especially Seabs- been here awhile, he's the only D carrying his share of the water this year, has some red ass in him....But, he might not be that guy. But that's the best fix here.

These stupid trades, and the whole "blow up the Irgin0I-zation in mid February- While absolutely hysterical , thank you for making a flight that much shorter- aren't going to happen.

This streak could easily end Tuesday, or it could extend through Columbus. But it's going to end when #'s 19, 10, 88, 2, 7, and 81 ply like it should end.

Keep Toews, Hossa, Seabrook...everybody else goes to the highest bidder. The core needs to be slashed in half.

Way too soft. Will not win in the playoffs with the current makeup, now or in the future.

In return, get some young, bigger bodies who can play the entire 200ft length of ice.

Get a dam goaltender.

Because he can't act by himself.

But . . . these guys are smart enough from a marketing/political perspective to see that some kind of BOLD move (smart or not) is required to take the light of scrutiny off of them.

It's one thing to say "I/we did nothing . . . and failed" than to say "we tried . . . and failed."

Make some trades? Fire the coach? What is mgmt actually waiting for? Are season ticket renewals going out? Is playoff ticket money due? Is Wirtz on the yacht in a no cell service zone?

Do we think Toews may have lost his pull in the locker room?

All in all I bet they win another game.

Don't understand all the love for Carlyle?? He was in a similar situation in Anaheim. Had a team of stars, won the cup, and then went downhill every year after. What is he going to bring, that Q hasn't done already? IMO they need a guy who knows how to use his players for what they have, and build the system around them, and then ensure they adhere to that system. See Dave Tippett, Barry Trotz, etc....

Knuble and shultz are available from the caps. I know caps like saad
- kuznetsov

Yeah but McPhee wants Toews, Kane, Hossa, a 1st, and 3 "A" prospects for them.
It was reported that they had reached a deal earlier last month but at the last minute McPhee wanted someone that Stan was unwilling to part with.

It's not just McPhee though. Every GM knows the situation the Hawks are in and are gonna try and take them for whatever they can, as they should.

Yes....But first let's define a system and then sign players that can play it effectively.

Agreed.

His team, with less talent, has looked much better prepared than the Hawks have 3 of the 4 games they've played this year.

More and more...I believe this team will do very little.

They won't fire Quenneville because I don't think Old man Bowman would take on that responsibility, and that's a short term answer. What does promoting Haviland really do?

This organization is blinders on, head down, going to do it there way. They're banking on a talented core to step up, and a cup winning coach to right the ship. If they add anyone, it will be realitively small, because again...the GM is overly cautious and in love with every single prospect.

I hope I'm wrong, and they fire Quenneville, and trade for Nabokov, and start shaking things up, but I dont forsee it happening.
