it's not that, it's that we don't refer to Philly hockey fans as "flyer nation". that's terminology reserved for guys like colin cowturd.

The team allows players time to collect their thoughts before addressing the media. Kimmo is a vet. He knows better than to let his frustration get the best of him with the lights on.

Meh... I'm not really worried about what the players say. Has little to no effect what happens on the ice.

I think it was Jsaquella who said it a few pages back, that coming into this year they set themselves up to win now if things fell in place for them like 2010 but with all the rookies and new faces Homer and Snider had to know this year was a stretch. I personally still believe they can win but they have to buy into the system.

Before going out with the flu, Bryz put in a nice stretch over his previous 8 games. If he can keep going at that pace the rest of the year, maybe it gets the guys up front to settle down and stop trying to pounce on the puck at risk of a fatal breakdown. Okay so he sucks in the shootout, so did this team waaaay before he came to town but it matters not in the playoffs. I just feel like watching this team they are like the baseball team that tries to hit a homerun at every at bat. Settle down do the simple things and results will happen, that's precisely what the rangers are doing. Their goalie is just icing on the cake otherwise he'd have a ring and a Vezina in the trophy case already.

- JoeRussomanno

I agree with you about Bryz. He really seemed to be finding himself and i hope thar continues when he comes back. His situation reminds me of curtis joseph when he signed with detroit. It took him until february i think to get settled in.

Eric Wellwood has been called up. Likely means Voracek won't be able to play tonight. Interesting that the Flyers called a player up. They currently have an extra forward on the roster.

I didn't agree with a lot of what Timonen had to say yesterday. I think the effort was there, that wasn't an issue imo. People have to realize that these players are talking to the media 15-20 mins after a tough loss. They are speaking out of frustration. Not to mention I'm sure most players on the team despise dealing with majority of the Philly media.
- PLindbergh31

I don't agree with him calling out team-mates compete level, that should be for the coach but who am i? I do see the lack of cohesion and it's definitely part of what you said about the frustration level and dealing with the media I think sometimes these guys feel backed into a corner and when you back anyone or anything into a corner usually they get nasty. He didn't mention names so maybe it jives in the locker room.

Why wouldn't Bryz deserve a start? He did have a shutout in his last appearance.

Yep. I saw guys competing hard, I don't think compete level was an issue. But Timonen would know better. He's been a Captain in the NHL and has played at an extremely high level for a long time, I don't have a problem with him speaking his mind. He should include himself when speaking about the teams failure, he didn't play well yesterday.

You need to have an extra player when your on the road. A player can get hurt in warmups. It's likely a precaution if Voracek can't play. Regardless of who replaces him in the lineup, you still need an extra forward.

Why get worried? We're obviously much better on the road... wouldn't that be better?
- fecondo

Nice.. the one thing I will say is that say Homer upgrades the D with say a Hal Gill or someone that at least helps out our PK or depth, we get all the forwards back healthy and the tender plays well, it won't matter that we lost all these games to NYR and Boston in the reg season.

It really is about making and how you go into the playoffs. I remember 2010 with the 2-7 matchup vs NJ. I'd certainly like to see us win the last matchups vs NYR and Boston going into it, but as you say, we're good on the road, so it make work out.

Sometimes I really do believe its a team conspiracy to (frank) with the media. Don't know why its just a gut feeling maybe they want to create this us against the world thing. Pronger no doubt used to mess with them.

The Rangers dressed 7 dmen yesterday with Fedetenko not making the trip. Who was their extra forward?

I don't think Bob played so well yesterday as to deserve another shot. Now if you mean you don't want Bryz going in cold against a team he hasn't played well against in recent years, then I may have to agree.

What a toe drag move by McDonagh....but that injury didn't look good. The Rangers have a great, young D core. All of them are physical. Must be nice.

I take what's said to the media by the players and coach's with a grain of salt. They feed the media with a lot of BS most times, and as far as the Philly media goes, I don't pay attention to anything they say, write, or report.

Exactly. I mean i dont like that we lose to the rangers and bruins. But its the regular season. Anything can happen once the playoffs start

It's the right answer. I'm telling you what the deal is. But go ahead and use it to knock a certain player.

Sestito whacked at Lundqvists pads. I was initially upset with the call but once I saw the replay I agree with the refs. Flyers clearly trying to goon the game up to try to rattle the Rangers somehow. Refs made the calls they made to corrall the game. And they did.
- Just5

I completely disagree. How many times do scrums start because a player shoves a player or gives a guy a smelly glove face wash with no penalties. It was a weak call. It has to even up to make any kind of attempt to keep the game from getting out of control.

Bob was exceptional yesterday IMO. In no way was the goaltending yesterday inadequate.
