Im not happy that they lost this weekend but it gets tiring having to defend a team that is currently in/tied 4th in the Eastern Conference. Their going through a rough patch right now they can turn it around.
- stveshdy

I agree with you, I'm just concerned with the play of Mezzy, Carle and the goalies.

Bob really sucked on the 3rd goal. I didn't see a deflection there. He needs to glove that damn puck he was too busy swimming across the crease. There were many flyers out there on a long shift.

As predictable and as pathetic as the PK.

back to back double Lost Weekends for Flyers

- PLindbergh31

Well, at least the Flyers only lose twice in a weekend once in a while. Their fans lose all the time with the Panotch/Carchidi/Sevarelli trifecta.

Bryzgalov didnt play this entire weekend. Bob played two contending teams and gave up a bunch of goals (not all his fault). This is the same issue that has been hurting Bryz all season long as well. The defense (forwards included) need to get better. Guys need to do their job and trust others will do the same.

Flyers should be proud of the effort. They did a lot of good things. What can you do its growing pains
- Just5

I admire the delusion of those who think these are growing pains, its a young team etc. You have veteran forwards leave their checks time after time after time. In the last 90 seconds, Datsyuk, Franzen and Helm had that long shift in the Flyers zone. Darren Helm of all people leaves Hartnell staring disinterestedly as he blows by him and just launches into an uncontested shot from near the hash marks. I think Harts has the best +/- on our team. If these are growing pains, then I am afraid we are stuck in terminal childhood.

only 3 wins in last 10. can't score on the PP. PK is pathetic. they sure CAN turn it around, but it does not look good.

Well, the boys better rest up and enjoy the next 4 days off. They won't have more than 3 days off between games starting Thursday and ending with their final playoff game, whenever that is.

They are due to break out of this. Jagr has been gripping the stick a bit for a few weeks but he is getting looks that will start going in soon. Going from history, Briere will turn it up any day now as well. They have 3 days to clean up this mess on the back end as far as these coverage breakdowns that leave someone wide open down low. They ain't going to be perfect, but they can improve. Maybe they do trade for a defensive vet. Hell, as much as I've knocked him, I'd even take Gill over MAB.

Hes not the one machine gunning his teamates

Nothing Kimmo said was wrong, and he's backing it with solid play. I see nothing wrong with what he said, or how he said it.

Heck, if Pronger were still with the team you would have heard the same, or more long before now.

Jagr and Briere have been missing for awhile now.

Missed most of the game.

Checking the boxscore I see they held a lead for 2:02 at the end of the second and gave up the requisite early goal in the third.

Yup. The players need to call a closed door, team meeting this week to address this. Too much dum dum play, resulting in a lot of running around and blown coverages.

Longest home winning streak this year is 3. That is totally ridiculous.

All concerns. I just think when you lose a stretch of games players tend to press and this team needs to get back to the basics.

Agreed. Guys can look in the mirror and do some soul searching. A bunch of guys not doing their jobs right now.

The effort tonight was good, special teams were the undoing again.

I agree. Team meeting Wednesday am, followed by a brisk practice. Maybe an optional skate on Tuesday for the scratched players and anyone else who wants it.

Not really sure how you can be mad at this game. I'll take the positives out of it. The effort is there. The quicker you realize this aint a Cup year the better. There will be turnover on the roster shortly, we have some good young pieces. I give Schenn hell here at times but the kid has a knack for the net in the offensive zone. Always in good spots.
