Rangers keep their stellar record when leading after 2 periods intact.

Bryz gets blamed for everything. He has played well over the last couple of weeks (minus NYR). I find it funny that during the second intermission Milbury was crushing Bryzgalov about how bad he is (during wash/ny game).
- stveshdy

Has either goalie been good against the rags? I don't think the goalies are the problem in facing the rags. They both are good goalies. We keep plugging different goalies in against them going back to last year and we keep getting the same result. Anytime you try to fix something, if you keep swapping out a particular part and get the same result I would say its time to look elsewhere in your trouble shooting.

..............but this I don't agree with dude. If Bryz is playing good, consistent hockey then this board will see that and turn the dogs against the forwards for not scoring enough goals. Which was pretty much the case against in the Isles game. Bryz has been maligned around here because of his uneven play coupled with his salary. If he does his part then the focus will shift. It always does.
- rockychocbill

It will shift for the informed fans certainly. But for the other half of the HB population, not likely. Once a player becomes a scapegoat, he tends to stay there for a lot of people regardless of his play. We've seen that over and over.

He called Bryzgalov a French Poodle? He could have at least called him a Husky.

What's funny about Milbury is, everyone rips him, yet he keeps cashing a paycheck from TSN, NBC, and NESN. This after putting his hands on a 12 year old kid. And no one does a (frank)ing thing about it.

Being happy about the shutout effort isn't to say it erases his underperformance through the first half of the season. One can feel he has a ways to go to be the goalie we expected and still be satisfied with his recent performance.
- BulliesPhan87

If he keeps going 8 games and only giving up more than one goal twice, is that enough? Imo it seems like since he got his head out of his butt form w/e the hell was plaguing him in december he's been getting better. If we're going to hang him out to dry for his 10 or 11 bad games then can't we give him a lil praise for the 19 or 20 good games?

Yesterday should have shown us this team is plagued defensively and it didn't start at 100pm on 2/11/12 either. That being said I think some of the defensive woes have contributed to Bryz's less than stellar season. I seriously doubt Lundqvist or any other goalie messiah is doing a world difference behind this team.

Horse-shoe up his ass I guess. Some people can fall into a pile of crap and still come out smelling like a rose.

Only teams that can beat them in the East are Boston, and Pittsburgh (If Crosby returns).

Detroit is still the best team in the NHL.

He's one to talk. Isn't he the one who gave Dipietro that monster contract straight out of college? At least Bryz had some NHL wins on his resume first.

The Old Man said "never again"! And now rumor has it that the Flyers won't go into the playoffs without a "third option". The Old Man must be p.o.'ed.

Shame on Flyer management if they can't focus on the area that really needs fixing.

His credibility is basically zero. Guy was a colossal flop as a GM. I agree with basically zero of what he says, but Bryzgalov being one of the top disappointments to this point in the season is hard to argue with.

Many times, the defensive woes have been worsened by his performance. Likewise, the reverse is true. He's showed promising improvement since the turn of the year, but he has to continue to be better. Bad team defense is a big issue, but at ten million dollars cash on the season the expectation that he'll erase some of that isn't unreasonable. I retain hope he'll get there.

Guy is a joke. I have no clue why he is employed by 3 different networks. I mean who wants to hear this guys opinion? It's comical.

I think somewhere in all those 1 goal or less games he's cleaning up the defensive poop. Even if he doesn't keep his numbers in a reasonable spot I want to see how he comesback next year. Last bad season he had in phoenix he followed up with a vezina nomination. Maybe its better he gets his bad season out of the way now while the rookies season into NHL players.

With the start that Bryzgalov has gotten, it's going to be very difficult to get his overall numbers to look decent. So from this point on, what his overall numbers are for the Season really don't matter. It's how he plays from here on out.

Of the 16 teams who currently occupy playoff spots, the Flyers are the only team who was lost more games at home than they have won.

That has to change. Makes no sense how there is zero home ice advantage.

Maybe start staying in a hotel the night before a home game, and having a curfew could be possible solutions.

I'm thinking the numbers do come down. March has been a good month for him. Having Bob as a backup instead of Labarbera makes it easier on him because he won't be asked to start the last 30 games of the season. I Think he finishes under what his numbers are now and makes it hard for poopheads like Milbury to call him the biggest bust of the year.

I'd go with simply playing better at home as the solution versus staying in a Hotel.

They will come down, if he plays better certainly. But getting them to where they were expected to be, is going to be very difficult.
