are you seriously suggesting he doesn't have a bias toward Yanks?
your own stats 8 Americans out of what 23 is far beyond the league average - not to mention the level of "overpaidness".

what possessed Burke to pay Komisarek north of 4 millon/year.
why did he go out and get Lebda at all?
if he hadn't signed Connelly would it have made any difference - really?

- BorjeFan4Ever

Burke's UFA signing history in Toronto is absolutely horrendous.....I dont believe there's one UFA signing he has made that has been good.
They've all been crap.

lol dont you start now too

canadian fans are typically over-sensitive when it comes to nationality of hockey players i find

- Dozzer

Well he does love the NCAA, regardless of nationality aka Hanson, Irwin, Bozak, Scrivens and Brenner, targeting Gilroy, Miele, Butler, drafting Ryan, D'Amigo, Knodel, Biggs, Camerenasi, Everson and Robertsson.

]i don't get how the leafs/and their fans can call Toronto the "center of the hockey universe" when they haven't won anything since 67. they weren't a force in the 70's 80s or 90s really, they had their moments but nothing to earn that kind of title. Even today on hockey day in canada there wasn't one story about the leafs or the veteran/retired players doing anything special for the sport. The fans, ex players and cbc spoke alot about the habs, Boston and their alumni, and nothing about legendary leafs. Albeit its not all about the habs but id put the leafs 5 out of 6 of the original 6 teams as being an influence to the sport, mtl, det, bos, nyc,to,chi. Man did phanuef get burned today... he looked so bad, embarrassing. Lastly ACC has to be one of the quietest and boring arenas in the NHL. Barely an ovation for Sundin and the momentum didn't carry on into the game at all... you could hear a pin drop in that building and its like that almost every game. One day hopefully the acc will be a hard arena to play at like the other original 6 arenas. I feel bad for your team to have to play in that kind of atmosphere. the 2000 Nordique's fans at the Ottawa game today were louder than your whole building combined!

it's a fabrication by leafs management and their fan base because they have absolutely nothing to hang their collective leafs hats on. even that dull jersey retirement was typical toronto white bread. what a snoozer. and when sundin said "now i'm a part of the great tradition and history of the toronto maple leafs," it was both sad and funny at the same time.

Could you put that in all caps and italics as well please, I'm having a hard time making it out. Probably because I'm receiving it at the centre of the hockey universe, and the farther away you are from that the less you exist, so your point is barely coming through...also a little francais would be nice

You're right rob. It's really hard to figure out why they say they're the centre of the hockey universe.
