Well I agree with you in defense pairings
That is a bIg beef I have with Wilson....no way Schenn should be with Gards
Btw all those qualities that Komi has..... Describe Schenn too, sad to say - faceto27
Largely true the comparisons between Komisarek and Schenn - however - Schenn's what 22 years old and I think its fair to say he hasn't been particularly well handled by Napoleon. Komisarek costs 4.5 or so, Schenn 3.5 and for as slow as people want to label Schenn, I still guessing he's quick than Komisarek, doesn't take anywhere near the same number of just outright stupid penalities, gets quite a much larger number of hits and passes the puck a whole lot better.
Yet people seem to want to forgive Komi - and blame Schenn.
It seems because Komi got the big contract that he's somehow forgiven for what Schenn gets blamed... or is that because he's American?
okay now replace Komi in the previous sentence as follows:
It seems because Connelly got the big contract that he's somehow forgiven for what Bozak gets blamed... or is that because he's American?
and my personal favorite...
It seems because Lebda got a contract for no reason whatsoever, and because he's "smooth skating" he's somehow forgiven for ......

He hasn't traded him.
But to your question... if he doesn't posess that potential, why would other teams be interested in him?
Why is part of literally every rumored aquisition of elite talent (Getzlaf,Staal,Nash...), everyone of those rumors contains Schenn as part of the package going the other way.
Obviously because 29 other GMs, 100+ other scouts/asst GMs must consider him a total bust. - BorjeFan4Ever
ok, you want an honest answer? Schenn was drafted 5th overall by Toronto. naturally, he was hyped into something he might or might not become because of the Toronto media machine and by his big hits at the WJC. he's still young enough that this hype still surrounds him, despite the fact that he's proven to be nothing more than an adequate NHL defenceman. these rumours... they're just that. rumours. they're based on the rumblings of people with absolutely no inside information, like Eklund and the fans on this site or journalists like Steve Simmons. do you honestly believe that if Burke was presented with the opportunity to acquire a first-line forward, and Schenn was the centrepiece of the return package, Burke would not have pulled the trigger in a heartbeat?

So go cry somewhere else then. You call me mature, yet you're the one in here trolling after the refs gave you the win last night. Go (frank) yourself and take these other losers with you. Do you understand that?

Still mad the Habs PP scored last night? 2 PP's for the Habs all night including the late one on Brown.

well you have answered your own question... since the rumors of trades and player critique come from largely the same sources ... each has as much credibility as the other.
do we really know how GMs rate Schenn? no we don't.
Do we know if the rumors are true? no we don't.
What we do know is that one GM decided to give him a contract for 3.5 million.
We also know another GM gave Gomez a 7.3 million dollar contract
We know that another GM gave Matt Stajan 3.5 million dollar deal.
We know that Boston traded a late 1st round pick, a pretty good prospect and a 2nd for Kaberle, who's a washed up shell of his former self.
We know yet another GM signed two players to 5+millon dollar 10+ year deals and then traded them.
We know that Louis Leblanc was drafted in the 1st round because he's got a French canadian name
We know that Montreal fans were more concerned that the new coach couldn't speak French than they were about his ability to coach.
We know that a certain GM in Toronto will go out of his way to acquire Americans.
And we know that Datsuyk was drafted in the 6 or 7th round.

8 americans on the team, not one save for kessel on the top two lines, and only one d-man in the top 4 in liles
not to mention komisarek isnt getting much game time any longer so there's only 7 in the most current version of the starting lineup
this "burke likes american players" myth has no validity whatsoever

are you seriously suggesting he doesn't have a bias toward Yanks?
your own stats 8 Americans out of what 23 is far beyond the league average - not to mention the level of "overpaidness".
what possessed Burke to pay Komisarek north of 4 millon/year.
why did he go out and get Lebda at all?
if he hadn't signed Connelly would it have made any difference - really?

I think it's more a bias to the NCAA and US hockey program, he really loves them.

other than komisarek which american is overpaid?
i think its a farce
according to nhl.com there are 205 american born players.. divide that by 30 teams and you get 6.83 players per team
