Because? - burn
He's coached as good in the new year, post-lockout, as Maurice did.
This is no argument |

I'm even gonna say the current hatefest for Wilson's comments. I'm no Wilson lover, but he's coached them pretty well in 2012. - Feeling Glucky?
I just don't believe Wilson has the right personality to thrive as a coach here.
And he's still a .500 coach at the end of the day. |

for a good stretch there, they played a good defensive system with a strong counter-attack. EXACTLY what this team needs to do to be successful |

if he's being smarmy and shutting up the reporters, he's good.
if he's throwing his guys under the bus, when the rest of the team (frank)ed up, he's not.
I don't get the criticism of Reimer. When you get shut out, it's never the goalie's fault. |

Still a .500 coach mostly....... Took him 3 years of massive failure to get there. Not good enough. |

McCabe and Kaberle were absolute money on the PP for a long time. - robin_steele264
This is largely true - however the reason that they had the room they did for the majority of time was because of the threat posed by a certain #13, who generally either occuppied a least a single defender, or presented a real threat to score from the half boards.
I don't believe its a coincidence that Kaberle's power play skills evaporated after #13 left. |

The only thing Wilson does well is throw others under the bus..... - burn
Agreed - and the meda are too stupid to ask questions (at the appropriate time) regarding issues such as
i) hey Mr Wilson, why did it take you 40 games of this year to figure out what was wrong with the penalty kill - essentially the same personnel?
or was Pascal Dupius really that bad? (second part gives WIlson an out... he can throw Dupius under the bus)...even though it was he(WIlson) who continue to dress him
ii) if Dion can't defend on the left side of the ice... why do you keep trying to force him there?
iii) how come Schenn gets benched when he commits a turnover, but Gardiner doesn't?
iv) how many times have you said "let's go"
I'd love to hear those questions asked - I know full well that condenscending Wilson won't attempt to answer them anyway. |

Halak got chased the other night, too. And he plays for a much better St. Louis team (and coach), no less.
I guess he's not the answer to our problems, either.
And Marc-Andre Fleury allowed 5 goals against Winnipeg, so I suppose he's pretty much a bust, too, now. - Leeman4Gilmour
LMAO

it's a fabrication by leafs management and their fan base because they have absolutely nothing to hang their collective leafs hats on. even that dull jersey retirement was typical toronto white bread. what a snoozer. and when sundin said "now i'm a part of the great tradition and history of the toronto maple leafs," it was both sad and funny at the same time. - rob121

Let's not forget we have a young Keith Aulie
A 'poor man's Myers'
6'5''
Can skate, and if only he could recapture what he and Dion had last year he's actually make Dion easier to bear. - AngryWhiteMale
Difficult to do when Aulie's not playing. |

You have to look past the fact that they're completely different players. They're both tall. They're the same. |
