They did win a cup 20 years ago. And they have made the playoffs. So Leaf fans can't talk.

Common sense doesnt bode well in this thread, so please bring it elsewhere.

his big acquisitions were samuelsson, sundin for a half season, and Erhoff. what common sense do u speak of? or is it another post something without an ounce of thought as per usual?

The point is, they're still smaller than the Leafs, but it sure as hell didn't look like it tonight.

Based on tonights players - the Leafs had an 8inch height advantage but where 48 pounds lighter than the Habs

Reimer made up 5% of the players on the ice for Toronto tonight.

Why should he have 100% of the blame? And who is your "boy"? 0.667 Gustavsson?

Give me a break. The team took a collective dump tonight. A 5-0 loss is no time to be singling out scapegoats.

The goalies played no worse than the rest of the team.

- Leeman4Gilmour

if gusty did what reimer did tonight you would blame it all on gustys but since its reimer its ok.... wasn't it you that said gusty alwayssssss lets in bad goals that deflates the team and thats why the team plays like poop for the rest of the game?? well guess what reimer did tonight.
and no gusty isnt my boy, neither is reimer....i just hate how leaf nation rips on gusty for every little thing and reimer gets a free pass.

1. Gus blows it when games are close.

2. Gus has no future here. I couldn't care less about him beyond wins and losses because I have no attachment to him. Reimer's currently the future barring a big trade.

3. Reimer gets the benefit of the doubt having suffered a severe injury that has hampered even better goalies than him.

4. This has nothing to do with goaltending tonight, whether it were Reimer or Gus who started. It was a total team (frank) up. Again, the goals allowed tonight were no worse a problem than the lack of goals scored.

5. As for "deflating" the team... This team looked deflated from the very start.

i agree reimer is our future and the team looked like poop tonight but he should have saved that first goal by cole which absolutely killed the leafs. they just got shut down on their powerplay and then cole takes it down and scores a weak one.

anyways, im just frustrated at the out come of this game just like the rest of leaf nation...wish we could do another sundin night because he deserves wayyyyy better. hopefully this loss wakes them up

If it werent for GUS - the Leafs would be looking at the playoff picture from the outside

I actually really like the Leaf's goalie tandum but they should not be both on the team at the same time. This was poor planning. We need a Jedi and a Padawan. Has no one learned from Star Wars!!!

Real problems in the net, peeps. Reimer should be the future backup. The Leafs are on the edge of missing the playoffs for what, 7 straight years? The one consistent element through all 7 of those years is inconsistent goaltending. Just sayin'. Here's a thought for you leafs fans - let's say the leafs add a couple more important pieces through trade, free agency, whatever. Do you REALLY think this tandem of goaltenders is ever going to get this team deep into the playoffs? I don't.
