while my team is an utter train wreck right now and is staring into a black hole, your statement is awfully sad. you guys need to win a Cup soon. kinda hope you do. - DoubleDown
Good point, I agree! Both teams should win a Cup soon. Habs are in their longest drought ever now...that could turn into a long drought before you know it. Just ask Leaf fans...or lots and lots of NHL fans. No one had a better run than Montreal, they could always say they won a cup in every decade, until last decade. Might be their turn to not win one for decades, you never know.

even with a win tonight, i still think we miss the playoffs by a mile. but i also don't think we're as big a train wreck as this season makes it seem. there are solid pieces in place. just go to get rid of Gauthier and Cunneyworth and bring in a competent GM-coach tandem with a plan.

Anything less than 2 pts tonight is unnacceptable.
Thank you EDM for stealing a point from Ottawa - AngryWhiteMale
as a Leaf fan, you should know that playing a team that has nothing to play for is not an easy task. as a Habs fan, i can tell you that a mediocre team fighting for a playoff spot HATES seeing these crappy golf-bound teams coming into town in February.

Believe me I know.
My team's used to playing with house money at this time of year, and doing a good job with it at that

Komisarek for Kaberle? - yea-ok-buddy
yep, i would do that in a second. think about this for a second. this is our GM: Boston trades for Kaberle to run its PP. Gauthier spends 2 weeks in April watching Kaberle play such an ineffective role on the PP that the Bruins do not score a PP goal in 7 games against Montreal and effectively relegate him to a bottom-pairing role despite giving up 2 prospects for him. Carolina signs him for 3 years to run their PP and gives up on him 2 months into his contract.
somehow, with his PP sucking rail in Montreal, Pierre Gauthier decides that's the guy he wants to fix his PP.

lmao.
He'll be going somehwere at the deadline. It's almost guaranteed.
There's really nobody who's played their way off the Leafs' blueline over the last month - AngryWhiteMale
who's gonna take him? especially with the CBA uncertainty. i'm hoping that when the next lockout ends, there will be another cap-free buyout window to reset the market.

LOL
You guys will be in need of size once Gill walks.
I was impressed with that Emillin fella' last time our two teams met though.
Seems quite qoised with the puck, making simple plays, kinda like Gunnarsson

Sweet! That 500th goal is so brown. Short-handed OT winner for the hat trick and 500, just blows it past the goalie. Great call by Cole too, love it. Mats is gold.

I doubt there will be a lockout. The consequences of the last lockout are still felt, and there are 5-6 teams in the states that are in no position to deal with another lockout.
I don't think there will be a cap-free buyout or anything, but I do think teams will be allowed to ttake on a certain amount of a players' salary in a trade.
