Nope, it's the Leafs effort. They go on a streak where they're world beaters, then decide to not be world beaters no matter who they are playing. I'd expect no different if it were the Isles.

The defensive play has been Horrible, thats the main reason we are down by 4, oh make that 5, yet you insist on hanging the goalie out to dry. That's what I mean. If we were playing tighter as a unit, and we looked like we were a threat, then ya, I'd take being down 2-0, but tonite it doesnt matter. Watch the other players, not just the one with pads on.

The defensive play has been Horrible, thats the main reason we are down by 4, oh make that 5, yet you insist on hanging the goalie out to dry. That's what I mean. First goal - soft shot from far out, not D's fault
Second goal - one timer from the circle that was low, not THAT difficult to get a pad on, lateral movement was Giguere-esque in the fact that it looked like it was in slow motion
Third goal - soft shot right through him
Fourth goal - bad play by Dion but at that point the game was already over, he wasn't even putting in effort

I understand sticking up for the goalies...but (frank) me, when they let in goals like they have been it's pretty (frank)ing hard to blame the defence. A good goalie would be able to bail his team out after mistakes from time to time....you see any of that happening tonight? This team is in trouble, they have 2 back ups playing.

The good thing for the Leafs is that they have virtually no competition for the 8th spot. Washington will reclaim the third spot and the Panthers will have their annual end of the year fail.
