Whether the team is having a retooling year or not is irrelevant to the expectations that the organization, coaches, and players set for the team. the goal every year is the same, especially in a town like a Philly. A perfect example is how the flyers "retooled" after the dreaded 06-07 season and went from last to 6th in the conference and would have been higher if it wasn't for a ten game losing streak. this city, this team does not take defeat lightly and I feel that the losing streak against NYR is killing them mentally. Everyone's looking for answers and people to blame and that hasn't been working the last 7? 8? meetings against this team. I feel the constant fighting with NYR has gotten this team no where and perhaps has helped NYR b/c they're getting the results they want out of it. The Flyers seem to be fighting for the right reasons (Light a spark, etc.) but the goals and solid D hasn't followed, which makes dropping the gloves pointless.

I think you make some valid points here. When the game got to be 5-2, I hated the fact it turned into a goon fest. Nothing is gained from that.

I'm heading out, and will leave off with this before everyone starts the love parade on how amazing the guys on this team are.

Everyone is a fan of the team. The logo comes first to me before any of the players.

If they are so good, such promising d-men, why is the same issue of consistency with Carle, Coburn and Meszaros brought up constantly. They are losing games for a reason.

Would be far too easy for Homer to sit on his ass and hope they all put it together, and do so at once. I am not willing to tie up 15 million in those 3, let alone be comfortable with two of them in the top four. You never know if they are going to come out with a horrid game or a solid one.

They suck, they're horrible, time to rebuild, get Weber, whaa(frank)ingwhaaa.

Right now, the Rangers are a better team. So is Boston. Possibly Pittsburgh, if Crosby can return.

It's not about one guy or two guys stepping up, it's team wide. You have a bunch of rookies still learning how to play over the course of a full season. You have guys who are being asked to play bigger roles and more minutes then they have been asked to before.

Rather than being complimentary guys, Carle, Meszaros and Coburn are being asked to carry lesser defensemen. Perhaps they can't handle that role, at least at this point in time.

So many people felt that they were not strong contenders this year, so why are you pissing and moaning when they lose to teams that are serious contenders? Some people in here are like insecure teenaged girls, trying to decide what dress to wear to the dance. Others are just pure D morons who are here to troll and bring nothing worth reading to the conversation or are simply here to rip the team.

This is what happens with young teams, they have growing pains. The sooner you realize that the better off you will be.

This team just doesn't play the right way all the time. That is part of the growing pains of a new team with a some new faces and a bunch of rookies. It's not a disaster, it's not the World is ending. But we have to read the drama, such as we need all new defenseman. The Ranger's are better. We knew that before the game today. The result today confirmed that. The Flyers need to work on getting their team game situated. It all starts with team defense and puck support. When they have it, the Flyers are very good. When they don't, they're average. It's like what Timonen said today, the Rangers play the same way all the time. And when you to play an aggressive puck hunting style, one of the dangers is what were seeing with the Flyers this year, on and off.

He was our sack leader last year for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL before he was signed to a contract last summer..He was a demon on the Defensive end for us....heard he had good reviews from the eagle organization...But what did you fans think of him? Keeper? or would you send him back to our team here?

They should be drafting quarterback first round. They will never win a Super Bowl with Vick. Plenty of late first round quarterbacks have had recent success (Rodgers, Roethlisberger off the top of my head)
