Yeah, but 27 or 28 year old defenseman is not a horrible risk with a longer deal.

No it's not. Definitely worth the slight gamble.

True. At this point I'm not even convinced there will be a season next year.

We don't even know if they'll have a free agency with no new CBA at this point in time.

Some things might be on hold on July 1 and even before for some extensions.

I'm one of those who wouldn't mind Luke Schenn or Jack Johnson, for the right cost

Just being aware enough to do that is pretty cool.

No question about it.

All this hype with Jeremy Lin of the Knicks. I don't watch the NBA, but it peaked my curiosity. I'm guessing the nickname of the Yellow Mamba, won't catch on.

I think JJ would help the PP, not sure how he would help the struggles in the d zone. He generally needs a compass to find his own end.

Schenn has promise, not sure the Flyers can get him without overpaying.

I dont think JJ is as bad defensively as people think. People throw out his minus number but alot of that has to do with 5 on 5 and playing against other teams top lines. If his line isnt scoring then obviously his +/- is going to look bad.

Then do that when playing for the lottery. The odds are probably similar.

+/- doesn't tell the entire story, but his is dreadful. Granted the Kings struggle to score, but Quick is a stud. I haven't seen a ton of JJ. No doubt obviously he would be an upgrade to MAB, and Gus. Perhaps he would even be better than Coburn or Meszy.

I'm not saying Johnson's great in his own end, but He does play a ton of minutes for a pretty stingy Kings team. If Johnson was the target, I wouldn't stop there, I'd try for a Boychuk type guy to play with him, physical, solid defense first guy.

I was a little concerned when they drafted him so high. I knew his athleticism was off the charts, but was concerned with the fact he picked up football later than most guys.
