OMFG, everybody RELAX!!!!!! None of this means anything. This team is going to the playoffs and is third in points in the East with massive injuries and a whole new team. Who cares what happens in these games. Let the Rags fans relish in their regular season wins. Giants just proved whoever the hot team is usually wins. Things will be just fine.

Usually this kind of loss would be put on Bryz...so whats the excuse for todays ass whipping?
- stveshdy

a pathetic pk, and the continued inability to get real traffic and 2nd chances against lundqvist.

the d and g just aren't good enough. too many rookies.

Bottom line is that Toby is just not as good as the Rangers.

The Flyers arent doing jack in the playoffs. I would like one or two wins this season against the Rangers. Thats not asking much.

I dont know about you but im honestly tired of seeing the same mistakes over and over on defense. Their record indicates that their a decent hockey team but when they have to match up against the "big boys" in the East they become average. I dont think the Flyers are a bad team but its getting annoying to watch them get abused on defense.
- stveshdy

You're preaching to the choir, man. How may times today did you see the D looking to make a pass out of their own zone to find a forward already outside the red line? There's a lack of support, and too much 'offense first' thinking on this team.

Holmgren said Voracek has an UBI, but will travel to Detroit. Perhaps some good news.

well, that sucked. Bob flopping around like a fish didn't help. The Flyers were also TOO controlled on their breakouts, imo ... they really needed to push the attack more.

- FlyerGuy

if by too controlled you mean have a stationary dman make a 100'+ stretch pass to a stationary forward, i agree.

Flyers have a competitive team, with a bunch of rookies, and no Pronger. It's not a crime that they aren't as good as the Rangers or Bruins.

I really don't see how it's an excuse. I'm certainly willing to accept, as a much younger team this season, they'll give up games against top teams. But the five goal against "efforts" in the afternoon are a problem that needs to be reversed.
- BulliesPhan87

Im talking more about how their not focused for 1pm games. Every other team in the league is ready to play and the Flyers are never ready...I dont buy that. The Flyers just get abused anytime they have to play a legit contender in the East such as NYR or Boston.

You will have to figure that out on your own, and when you do, it will click immediately.

Not true. The Patriots had a 10 game winning streak heading into the SB, Giants 5. How did the hot team win?

The team with the better personnel won.

- PLindbergh31

I thought it was the team with the guy who didnt drop the ball to get a 1st down, but instead dropped the ball to get possession returned to the Giants and have Eli give Pats kingdom a big FU

I agree. So would it be wrong for the Flyers to be sellers at the TDL (with players that have no future here at seasons end)?

Dunno.

How many times can you diagram where players are supposed to be?

At least twice the past two games Coburn left a forward wide open in front on a PK to go do who knows what.

I assume he knows that's wrong, so how do you make him stop doing it?

- MrBuzzcut

coburn was awful today. again.

I think it's simply that they aren't as good, not what time the game starts.

I wouldn't have a problem with them selling Carle for a nice a package. If he's not going to be re-signed next year, might as well get some assets for him.

A 2-2 game turns into a 5-2 cluster(frank) and a Voracek (speculated) separated shoulder.
- PLindbergh31

did you really think it would end any differently?

it's very typical. flyers tie it. have momentum. narrow miss to grab the lead turns into a farcical penalty and an immediate goal against. game over. all there was to do was wait for a couple of breakdowns that lead to more rangers goals in the 3rd.

Agreed. So if your not as good of a team this is when coaching comes into play. You have to make adjustments that give your team the best chance to win. Im not blaming Lavi cause the players still need to play but changing things up could only help. Their are always teams who have more talent but lose to teams who play smarter.

in general this has been true. today, i thought they were very ready to play. their shortcomings were evident in the 3rd especially and they ultimately looked terrible.

Special teams were a farce today. And Lundqvist was good. He's let in zero soft goals in 5 games vs. the Flyers.

Maybe Lavi needs to change some game plans ect... But really who knows wtf is going on in the locker room. Maybe Lavi does have a great gameplan and the player just dont execute.

What drives me nuts is how egregious the breakdown are. On some of those power plays, Toby was so far overcommited to one side of the ice it was just a matter of a cross ice pass to a wide open, sometimes 2 wide open Rangers.

Either that or a Ranger just circles wide out behind us and the Toby forward is caught out of position and a step too late. Game in and game out.
