I disagree with political correctness, turns people into pansies. Nothing more exciting then watching a race in which every kid wins a medal.

The FAT kid is always supposed to LOSE the race, such is life.

I find it comical that when Tim "I'm a (frank)tard" Thomas speaks his mind people praise him no matter how idiotic he is on the issue. But someone uses a questionable slur, and people get up in arms.

One day you wont be able to say the word Phat, because someone was called fat as a kid in a hateful way...

Freedom of speech outweighs being politically correct.

So Tango, once again I hate to say this, but I agree with you 100%.

I'm outta here.

I have been honored to see one of the greatest Maple Leafs ever in Sundin play for the leafs in my lifetime. I come here to write post honoring him and you guys have completely ruined the thread with trolling each other, expressing how you admire each other, Tim Tebow, and (frank)ing Tim Thomas.

The great number 13 has always had my respect. And if I want to let him know how special he is to me, I'll write him a fan letter.

I tried to spark convo on this thread from the start and it turned into a sh!t storm.

The Leafs..The greasy guy that wants to bang the hot chick but never stands a chance...but has banged quite a few hotties in the past.

The Canucks..The guy who gets a chance to bang the hot chick but can't bust a nut...and it always ends up that way for him, so he still is a virgin.

Both our teams suck compared to what we are after.

I'm off to bed. Always a pleasure Tango

No doubt, and with that being said... Someone should tell this beetle fag to remove the tampon from his sandy vagina..

In other news, mats should be a HOF'r for sure.

You trolls keep me laughing, thank you. It's funny how desperate you guys are to chirp everything that has to do with the Leafs. Yeah, the leading scorer in franchise history is "overrated".

Cool. Mine is when Sundin tied the game in game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Are you a hockey fan or just someone that takes pride in hating the Leafs?

- Tied-most regular season overtime goals (15, shared with Jaromír Jágr, Sergei Fedorov and Patrik Eliáš)
- Tied-20th in career goals (564, shared with Joe Nieuwendyk)
- 32nd in career assists (785)
- 25th all time in career points (1349)
- First European-born and trained player to be drafted first overall in the NHL - Entry Draft (1989 by the Quebec Nordiques)
- Longest serving European-born and trained captain of an NHL franchise in league history (10 seasons)
- Only Swedish player to reach the 500 goal milestone (564)
- Most career points, goals and assists by a Swedish hockey player
- Tied-Fastest overtime goal (6 seconds, shared with Alexander Ovechkin, Simon Gagné and David Legwand)
- First Swedish player to reach 1000 points
- One of two players (Marcel Dionne) to record at least 20 goals in his first 17 NHL seasons
- Most games played by a European born-and-trained forward (1346)

I would have to say, Sundin should be in for no other fact than the "european" items on this list. He broke some barriers by way of statistics due to where he came from....

Im a huge stickler for the HOF too, but when someone is top 25 of something out of thousands of players its hard not to place them among the best.

PS - the moment they let Cam Neely into the HOF, they have lowered the standards, so Sundin should be in.

I like Sundin, but his "legacy" will forever be tainted because he wouldn't accept a trade. He the set the organization back 5 years.
He'll never live that down.

Are you kidding me? They gave him the right for a reason, he deserved to do what he wanted. You think the return for Sundin would of put us ahead 5 years?

I loved Sundin as well, to an extent, as he was never the Clark or Gilmour type, but was a great leader none the less.

Although, I am on the fence as if he should be a HHOFer. I wonder if it is our love for the guy that makes us say yes...

Take a look at his stats. He never broke 50 goals, hit 100 points once, never won a cup, and never won a scoring race.

His 1300 + points are great numbers, but I feel a HHOFer should really stand out, or within 15 years, it'll be so crowded, and watered down. Because he is a Swede, and ranks near the top based on his nationality, I give him props for sure...

I just wonder if he was a San Jose Shark with these numbers, if we would all say he deserved to be voted in...

All respect to Sundin. Class act, and great captain. Just unsure if he should realistically be in the HOF.

- IronMaidnick

He will stand out. We won't be seeing too many players in the future finish with 1300+ points, with or without 50goal/100pt seasons.

For those of you who think Sundin doesn't deserve to be in, what about Iginla? Iginla has 2 50 goal seasons, 0 100 point seasons, and a lower points per game than mats. I think both are elite talents, with alot of class. I'd put them both in.

Once Sundin would have been traded (it would have netted minimum a 1st rounder, a player, prospect) then all the other dolts would have waived theirs NTC and the leafs would have picked up prospects and picks. The Kabs deal for Carter and a 1st would probably have gone through.
So yes, it would have put us lightyears ahead.
