Why would you say that? I think Snow has done a good job and the Islanders are definitely heading up. I agree Parise probably wouldn't sign there because they are still too far away from winning a cup but reaching the playoffs, they might do that by next year. They have some very good young players/prospects they just need a new arena. - Gambi99

The Nash rumors are a joke, never happen, makes no sense for either team. The reality is the only thing the Devils should be allowed to do is sell off their assets, it is pathetic how the league is giving them an advance on the revenue sharing so they can meet payroll, not really sure how they should be allowed to add any player at this point, I just don't get why the league allows this crap while other teams play within their means making their payroll. If at the minimum payroll and can't meet then then maybe a bailout. That Kovy signing looks better and better each day. - TheFreep
and yet other teams have asked for it early, teams that are not in financial trouble..........go figure
no one knows how bad the financial problem is, and you cant take what the Post says as fact, if you do well then you also believe that pigs fly and ek will get a rumor right |

Good blog.
The Devils are running a well oiled machine.
Kovalchuk is taking over. And, yes, he and Parise can coexist.
The devils recent play has made us not miss Tallinder. He is a big loss.
Brodeur/Hedberg tandem... Full confidence. Better than average.
* I could see Uncle Lou trade for a Dman. And for some reason Andy Green I see as a trading chip despite his recent contract. |

How did you determine the Isles are one of the clubs he'd go to? - rmdevil313
By his father playing for them in the past, plus prob the boat load of money Snow will throw at him, since the Isles have a ton of cap space.
Parise will consider the Isles, especially on how they finish the year, an the future looks strong, just need some more pieces to the puzzle.
Snow will prob offer Parise almost $8-10 mill a year, gonna be hard to turn down, thats just my opinion..... |

The problem is that Parise said he wants to play for a playoff team. Too bad the Islanders will never make the playoffs ever again with Snow and Wang. - Pomegrant
I might agree or disagree. In all honestly, if they Isles get or attract a few better free agent players, the process will happen alot quicker, but bc its a prob, we are waiting for the players to develop. Its not really Snow or Wang, its the county which is the prob, its all politics, which is b.s.
The Isles have a ton of prospects, prob is that there are 2-4 years away.... |

No thanks. I wouldnt want any defender from CBJ. They are AWFUL. - Kovaltron
Tyutin and Nikitin (top pair) are pretty good, but last I saw Nikitin was hurt. Tyutin would probably be expensive anyway, which would make the discussion over him moot. I doubt CBJ would trade its most reliable d-man.
In regard to the players Todd wrote about, Gill is the one I would want the most, and I would not mind Clark either...if we could find the space for either guy. Gill is a shutdown guy who tends to be at his best in the playoffs. He is slower than dirt, but he is the type of guy who still finds himself in the right place to block a key shot or make an otherwise important D play. The only thing is, who would come out when all our guys are healthy? Salvador has had a steady year. Fayne is real solid in his own end, and he brings more offense than Gill. Would that be so much of an upgrade? I don't know. And if we dress 7 d-men, Foster will obviously be the 7th to play on the PP. |
