I'll take a 2nd
Maybe with enough high picks we can trade for the 1st rounder we want dispite where we might finish

More than most years I could see the tops picks getting moved.

I agree, but it would be nice to see Bourque use that size a bit. He's played exactly as advertised. I definetly perfer his cap hit. He's younger as well, no?

All I'm saying is the 2nd round pick is probably the best part of the deal.

- habby

I don't mind it that much if he's not that physical... at least he aint no push over...

That's why having big "ok" guys is better then smallish "ok" guys.

I still think that Bourque hasn't found full chemistry yet

I would guess that edm. Pick could get moved for a later 1st rounder. They are pretty flush with young fwds

Not a cup winner, not a noted playoff step-upper, 2nd

(frank) off. If Mike Fischer fetched a 1st last year, I'm not trading AK for less. If you can't get that much, sign him.

Fisher is a big physical centre who doesn't take a shift off who wasn't a rental.

Not sure about that. Nashville needed a centre and figured that having Carrie Underwood's husband might garner some attention for the team. Not sure another team would have given up a 1st.

A lot of d-men expected to go pretty high this year. If they move it, it will be at the draft if the guy they want is gone.

I've looked, there's no comparables bringing in that type of value. Who are you thinking?

But the only reason to trade AK would be to a desperate team willing to overpay. If no one does it, why wouldn't they trade him? He said he wants to stay in Montreal, and a big, consistent 20-goal winger isn't something the Habs can replace easily.

A 2nd isn't enough, IMO.

Desperation and shallower draft should provide for a fun deadline. Lot's of playoff contenders very few sellers, sellers market

The Campoli trade is the only one that holds some weight.

Every forward you named is better than Moen, not even close actually.

We've also seen a trend of less movement at the deadline over the last few years.

Alot of that had to do with the moves being made before the deadline

I think it's more because GMs are realizing the impact vs price is crazy at this time of year.

The interesting thing about it is that in terms of goal scoring wingers, the market is fairly thin. If it's true that 3-5 teams are interested in Hemsky, that means that on the 27th, when he is moved, 2-4 teams are turning there attention to Kostitsyn and who else? Add to that their won't be much time left and PG might have some panicking GM's that he can really make pay.

Of course, this is all theory but wouldn't it be nice.

It would be a last minute thing where a team loses out on another player. Given this scenario plus he's not in a contract year plus his reputation taking a beating in the last year, my answer would be unlikely.

Would be surprising, but we never know.

Hope PG doesn't go for Penner
