You know you'll need to fill in the spot with either Bourque or another player... Ill take the player with size and a manageable cap hit.
- WaterBoy

I agree, but it would be nice to see Bourque use that size a bit. He's played exactly as advertised. I definetly perfer his cap hit. He's younger as well, no?

All I'm saying is the 2nd round pick is probably the best part of the deal.

He will if he doesn't produce more, doesn't matter he still would have been off the books.
I like the trade, I don't believe they could have gotten more for him.

We'll never know and im fine with it.

Bourque could fetch another 2nd if we needed to

I'd much rather Bourque and AK over Cammy any day of the year.
- muffin_man

We quickly forget that over the last 2 years he's been mtl's best forward in the playoffs....I know i know, they're not making the playoffs.

And since Gill won't go anywhere for less than a 2nd and Moen>Gill, we should have every pick in the second round when all is said and done

I'm fine with it too. Cammi needed to go and the habs couldn't justify his cap hit after this year.

I'd be shocked if Mtl gets a 2nd round pick for either of them. Maybe both together.

Given the latter, the former is irrelevant

And I do not forget, i genuinely appreciate what he did in those few weeks but his regular season is just too pathetic.

I'm not trying to say Moore has great value or anything, but a centre who wins a lot of draws has more value than a winger. I'm interested to see what both Moen and gill bring, but i doubt either gets a 2nd on their own. I would think the best value comes from packaging them.

As I've mentioned before, go take a look at the last 4 deadlines and comparable players to Gill and Moen being moved. If PG doesn't get a 2nd, he doesn't move them. Or at least if he was competent that would be the case...

Not a cup winner, not a noted playoff step-upper, 2nd

I've looked, there's no comparables bringing in that type of value. Who are you thinking?

I'll take a 2nd
Maybe with enough high picks we can trade for the 1st rounder we want dispite where we might finish
