Just curious why people think players don't want to go to NJ?
I don't think the trade will happen in a million years, but I don't consider NJ a bad place to play. - leafs93
Cus people are dumb. So many players that have played for NJ love playing for NJ. Thats why a lot of players usually return to NJ after leaving, or take pay cuts to stay in NJ (Brodeur). NJ organization is very loyal to their players, and the players are generally loyal to the organization. They hear NJ and immediately think bad, but in reality the arena is a great arena, and will be even better once the Nets go to Brooklyn.
Also this deal will not happen. Parise is not going anywhere when the Devils are sitting 5th in the East. If Parise gets traded it will only be if the Devils really collapse and fall of out playoffs, or trade his rights away at the end of the season. |

They will officially be in bankruptcy after the season. Who knows if they'll even be in NJ after that.

So Columbus wants to trade their star that's signed long term for an upcoming UFA that has 0 interest in resigning with a crappy team? Good Job Eklund! |

They are not going anywhere. They signed a 30 year lease. Also they have a new arena, that is drawing more and more people. You will start to see some turn around, especially if they Devils can make a run because investors will take more notice. |

I don't get this either. NJD have a winning tradition and typically great management. But I don't think it would matter much that they're in 5th because while I realize you're losing Parise....but you're also getting nash back. |

You can shake your head all you want, if they are tried to move expect a law suit. Any team that opens a new arena, will have debt but because Vanderbeek has become sole owner he does not have enough money alone to cover the costs. I'm telling you, by the end of the year, the Devils will have a co-ownership and be able to cover debt. - Velcro300

New Jersey isn't going anywhere. It's a club with history...The NHL would move 5 or 6 teams before they'd even consider it. |

alright, i didn't read all the comments so i'm sure it's been said, but if the devils can't afford to give parise the money he wants/deserves, HOW THE HELL are they gonna take on Nash's contract, which is more than parise would get. - sensarmy_11
Because this is an Eklund made-up rumour that has no possibility of ever happening....just like all his other garbage. |

I agree and Phoenix will be Quebec next year. NJ will resume the mantel as the next franchise in financial straits for 2013. Still losing money after all the changes. Phoenix is toast! |

I would think Parise would want to go to a team with better chances of winning a cup. Not sure what CBJ has to offer especially since NJD is in way better shape.
