Carle is tied with Gonchar, Lidstrom, Del Zotto in points.

Carle is a good defenseman so to expect him to sign cheap would be ridiculous bc a young NHL defenseman are at a high premium. Im not a huge Carle fan but if were going by points hes right up their with some good players.

The facts refute your opinion. Carle is currently 17th in points in the NHL among defenseman. He is 2 points out of being in the top 10 in points among NHL defenseman . He is one of the top scoring NHL defensmen in ES points. So how exactly is he not an offensive threat? I can show you plenty of defenseman who command a high salary without being highly physical. Just as an example on the same team, Timonen has 40 hits in 54 games, Carle has 34 in the same amount of games.
Saying Carle is a dime a dozen type of D man is not only inaccurate, it is ridiculous. Carle will be one of the top UFA available defenseman in the Off Season, for good reason.
