Bryz would get murdered if he gave up the goals Bob did tonight.
- JoeRussomanno

the goals he gave up in ny were much worse than bob's goals tonight, and yet somehow he survived.

Hell, he didn't even dress and he had brain dead, mouth breathing nimrods attacking him.

I actually read something to day claiming the Flyers need to trade Bryz for Nabokov straight up and the reasons given were mostly how he acted on the 24/7 show. Oh yea a little about the stats but how they are so bad and nothing about how the guy has been improved the past month.
You want to criticize the guy- fine- yes he's been bad at times this season. However he's been good more than he's been bad and he's getting better. I'd rather have him building up going into the playoffs than setting the world on fire now to crash and burn in the playoffs like he did the past two years.
Nabokov... plz. Unless he can play the Flyers for four rounds in the playoffs forget it.

The center of the Hockey universe is in town. Might as well call something with exactly 20 minutes left in the game.

My first game of the year. I have been to 11 games in my life and they have won them all. Give me tickets Homer! GID. Good win by the flyers but some fans are absolutely retarded. Yelling to shoot on the PP with no shooting lane, yelling at stupid stupid things. Some fans just ugh... fun night though

nice to see this again. deserved the 2 points. off the home schneid. now...they just have to (frank)ing beat the rangers, and i say they do. last year, the flyers won the first 4, and then the rangers won the last 2. the opposite is at work this season.

True but Bob hasn't been a brick wall of late either. Look I'm fine with how Bob played tonight. He's the backup that can one day be a starter hopefully here. But as this season goes on it's looking more and more like the cream is rising to the top.

he's played better overall imo, but he's still up and down. i can't say i feel like bob will keep it to 2 or less - he's just as capable of giving up 3+ all the same. bryz has been improving - he had a rough few minutes in ny. other than that, he's on the right track. hopefully he doesn't give up any bad goals on saturday.

Bobrovsky played a pretty strong third period tonight. He held the fort. A couple bad rebounds in the second period.

The thing is, Bryzgalov and Bobrovsky have a different set of expectations. I expect Bryzgalov to play much better than Bobrovsky for a variety of reasons. And I want both guys to play their best.

There is plenty of hate towards Bryz. People expecting him to come in and be 55-5 with a 1.50 gaa 15 shoutouts .977 sv %

Just ridiculous.

- stveshdy

or some overly insecure people make ridiculous claims as to what other people expect to bolster their position. If you want to throw out numbers, people could reasonably expect a 2.58 gaa, .921 sv % because those are the actual numbers he posted in Phoenix last year.

Seriously, noone expected the ridiculous stats you posted. Only you, who was also ranting earlier, that people would blame Bryz if the Flyers lost tonight with Bob in goal.

It's one thing to be defensive but you keep throwing out outlandish statements that noone on this board has made to defend your position.

People did, do, and should expect Bryz to be better than he has been to date. He is playing better lately but lay off the conspiracy theories a bit. Bryz still needs to do some things better, so does Bob but Bryz is always going to be a lightning rod because of his contract.

Sadly, both goaltenders will continue to look bad aslong as Coburn is playing infront of them...

Two points is two points, would be nice to get two more on Saturday. Would be a huge boost to the confidence to beat the Rangers.

That would be something. I think the first round matchup that would be most beneficiary to the Flyers would either be Washington or Florida.

Really hard to beat a team 10 times in a row. If I remember correctly the Flyers owned the Devils in 95 only to lose to them in 6 games of the Conference finals ugh.
