If it was only a broken nose, after the initial healing he can just throw a cage on and he should be fine. It may not completely heal for 6 weeks, but he should be able to play as long as the stitches don't open up. What I'm more concerned about is the possibility of a concussion. - eichiefs9
Wasn't RDP out for a year or so after he broke his face in the Pitt fight? Oh wait, that's RDP's healing time. He heals in dog years.

Anyone notice how all the sudden the refs are protecting goalies? the Lucic goal disallowed b/c Peverly was touching goalie. The Rangers goal disallowed. Where were these refs when the Islanders had about 4 goals scored on them with an opposing player LAYING on our goalie. Like the Gardiner goal in the Toronto game. - niteislander
Dont say that Dee will have a whole blog about that and complain for the rest of the year!! |

I had a heart attack reading this. If this season taught me anything it is we do not need that clown around here anymore. Like Tom Petty once said "Dont come around here no more" |

Unfortunately for his modeling career, his nose absorbed the brunt of the impact.
No mention/suggestion of concussion. |

Looked awful. Hope the kid recovers 100%. Seems like such a great kid that got to where he is on heart alone. Tough to see a guy like that get hurt in that way. He works to hard. Poor guy. |

When there's "no timetable for his recovery" he either a) has a concussion or b) has broken far more than his nose |

@isles10289 and kinda jethro.....in regard to yesterdays convo....
if you think a 12% of a 3rd round pick arent good odds...check this one out from IPB....
Here’s an interesting stat from my former FanHouse colleague Adam Gretz:
Since start of ’05 season only 2 teams overcame a deficit of 5 points or more on Feb. 8 to make the playoffs.

This morning on the NHL network during the feature "Daren Dredger Insider". Dredger delved into the rumor surrounding the possible trade of Nabokov. After speaking to Garth Snow. He reported that according to Snow there has been no talks between the Isles and any teams regarding Nabokov and that he has ZERO intentions of trading him. Dredger went on to add that with the Isles only 9 points out of the 8th place PO spot. Things could change quickly over the next 2 weeks preceding the trade deadline if the Isle lose a few games in a row and begin to fade |
