I think Oilers will be too good down the stretch to be picking Grigs. We're 5 points from passing 6 teams. That being said, we still can't go wrong with some of those picks. Murray is a franchise defensmen, Oilers need SOMEBODY back there. The prospects are good, but not 1/2 good. Maybe Klefbom but I think he's more a 3/4 PP guy. Forsberg would be sick on the wing I'll give you that, I don't think you can pass on a PWF of his caliber. But if we're picking 6th or 7th, then I really hope we land Reinhart. - Boosinicka
I hope it's a forward because oilers need help in the top 6,the D will be okay, hopefully Taylor Fedun gets healthy before next training camp.... |

If the Kings sent Kyle Clifford anywhere, I would curl up and cry like a little girl...we LOVE him here in LA. He's called 'The Colonel' for a reason... - Flake
Okay we the Oilers Fans promise not to ask for Clifford if you can ask your GM to take Belanger and Horcoff(double puke)for free, actually we won't mind taking Pancake back in return |

those vets already lost their confidence specially horcoff and not just this season but the season before, what your saying is the Oilers should keep just playing the vets to finish 30th in the league, btw Sam Gagner is on what his 4th season and Hall,Eberle in there second season, yes they still kids but I'm sure they can handle some more Ice time and with out those 3 and the Nudge the oilers for sure would be 30th in the league right now,I'm sure if you ask those 3 players about there Ice time they would be asking for more...lots of Sports commentators were asking that same question, why Dumb Coach Renney don't play those kids more and shake there heads...
- AlEx_OiL
are u trying to develop the vets or the younger players.. if u want to throw them in the deep end go for it.. but don't be surprised if one of them drowns. i'm sure if u asked any player in the league that plays under 20 minutes if they want more ice time they would say yes.. that why they have coaches. just cause they are top young players doesn;t mean they can all handle 25 minutes a game. i just think alot of the oilers fans are getting a little ahead of themselves. still a long way to go.. no need to rush things. |

Doug MacLean thinks the Oilers should trade Horcoff instead of Gagner.
He's very smart.

What a revolutionary idea.....
I am happy to see the 8 point game was no fluke (well, it kinda was, but you know what I mean).
Also did not know Horcoff's contract gets smaller at the end, 6mil, 4mil, 3mil for the last 3 seasons. There's hope yet the untradable is tradable |

PRV will do nothing until he learns that giving or getting a body check WILL NOT kill him. Play s like a scarry cat no room for that on a winning team.... |

Hemsky DOES NOT put the Wings over the top he would be tied for 16th on the team in goals and 11th in points. not sure who they would take out of the top 6 to make room. LA will have him |

I'm happy that the Oilers have finally decided to start drafting d-men. Once that pipeline starts, the team will have a continuous flow of prospects pushing through the system. not unlike the Nashville Predators.
However, what is currently being missed on this team, and it especially shows on the road, is that scary winger who likes to throw crunching bodychecks. That winger who can put a twinge of fear into opposing d-men. The oilers have pairs of top 6 forwards but no terrorizer to put on a wing to bring everything together. On the road, there are times when you just have to get mean and nasty to win. That's the element that Cam Barker and Andy Sutton brings to this team. Unfortunately, there is no fear up front on the Oil.
Players like Kyle Beach, Colton Gillies (big strong, fast and nasty) are what is going to propel this team to the next level.

It was stated a few times that we should put the BBC on a fwd line and see what he could do... He may provide some fwd toughness, given a little more freedom to be an energy guy much like big buff did for Chi in the playoffs... only thing is on which line??? 3 or 4?

PRV looked pretty good yesterday. He was hitting and driving to the net, one resulted in a goal. Pretty sure he keeps that up and he won't be going back to OKC. |

May even crack 15 points this year. He has had a rough go for sure, and was nice to see him play like he did last night. |

Managment must be telling renney they want another lotto pick. Try to keep the games close but lose!! He makes desicions that are only logical if you're trying to lose. Mac T would win with this team |

What if the Oilers made a deal with the Canucks to get Schneider? That would fix the goaltending issue. Dubnyk could be Schneider's backup. But, what deal could be done for that?
I'm thinking it would take one of Gagner, Hall, Nuge, or Eberle to trade to Vancouver for Schnieder + Hodgson.
What do you think? |

Not giving up one of those guys for a goalie that hasn't proved very much. Sure he's played well on a top NHL team with Robert Luongo there to push him, but there is no real gurantee that he would come to Edmonton and be the same goalie. |

It's funny how two weeks ago fans of other teams would scream that they "don't want our garbage" when Gagner was included in a trade proposal for their players, now he's listed along with Hall/RNH/Eberle |
