I'm kinda suprised at the WGR poll results.............question is would you rather us make the playoffs or have a top 5 pick.

Right now 71% want the playoffs over the pick.

I'll take the pick all day long. So we bust our ass and somehow make 8th and then what? We get bounced in 5 games to Boston or NYR? That's short sighted to me, get a building block for the future not a heroric run to 8th place.

Agree I liked him and thought he would be nice additon, a lot of PIM's, Faceoff wins, hits. Of all teams he goes to the Sens.

Exactly. A 1st round knockout does way more harm for the franchise now if the goal is to win the cup. It could convince management to keep certain people around and would also blow a good draft pick.

Right now.. I would trade Roy for all he is worth... and try to package him with Sekera, Weber, Grags, or even Leopold to get a top line Center back.. Stastny, Getzlaf, and I'd even take Olli at this point (just not Carter)

I would then try to dump the salary of Boyes or Sekera(if not traded) immediately!!

Stoll has shown potential but I think he is just band-aid guy.. he is just another 2nd line center at best...

screw that defeatist mentality. anything can happen in the playoffs if you get good goaltending. and if miller continues to play like he has in the past 5 games, this team can do anything.

Draft picks are a crap shoot and Im tired of losing so to me we need to make suttle moves at the deadline and keep winning.There isnt no magic bullet/player out there that will make the difference or that we can aford.

Take the picks and make it part of the package for a guy with a few years under his belt.
It's a higher risk to go into the draft in the absence of a Kane,Toews, Crosby type of player available in the early picks.
It's just not there this year-
