GODWIN'S LAW STATES (sic) THAT WHEN AN INDIVIDUAL SINKS SO LOW AS TO (A) COMPARE ANY SITUATION TO THE HOLOCAUST OR (B) USE HOLOCAUST SYMPATHIES TO INVOKE SYMPATHY TO THEIR OWN ARGUMENT HAS SUNK TO SUBHUMAN LEVELS AND NO LONGER WANTS TO COMMUNICATE BUT PROMOTE AGENDAS, OFTEN HATEFUL.
THE THRED, NO MATTER HOW ENTERTAINING OR INTERESTING, MUST END.

You're talking about violating a fundamental religious belief, be it ridiculous or not. Pretty sure free and viable contraceptives are available at pretty much any health clinic. I personally think the stance on birth control is antiquated and silly but that doesn't mean they should be forced to provide it. - Double_A
This stuff is not necessarily accessable everywhere and free clinics are not necessarily everywhere. The religious opposition to sex education, birth control and HPV vaccines are transparently anti-woman. Any provider of healthcare should be required to provide access to the same basic medical care and any medical insurance should provide that for their users. If the Catholic church isn't up to it, it's time to get out of medical care.

Hyperbolic sure, controversial hardly. The context was clearly that people should be concerned about infringement of rights regardless of whether it affects them or not. It was a relevant quote that illustrated his viewpoint well. - Double_A
I can't help but think Martin Niemöller would be upset that his call to protect your neighbours from tyranny is being used as a justification for allowing a religious group to deny people basic healthcare supplies. I see how Thomas might think he was using the quote in the proper context, but it is entirely backwards. He's using it to defend an institution's denial of freedoms to it's members, or those people who have the misfortune of having the institution as their source of healthcare.

Dude there is no healthcare in the U.S. Like everything else in that country the size of your wallet determines everything from education, wellfare, the judiciary, political views and most importantly the right to live.
The U.S = You have the right to PAY for the right to survive.

I'll cop to that being a terrible call. - nfph
That no goal call was bullpoop, and so was the Sabres second goal, if you're gonna call the first one, you gotta call that interference on Rask on the second goal. Should have been given Unsportsmanlike for the snow shower on Thomas as well, that was not incidental or accidental.
