Penguins return forwards Colin McDonald and Jason Williams to Wilkes-Barre. Good indication Jordan Staal is ready to leave IR. - Gunner Staal
Have you been following this kid Emmerson Etem in the WHL? Anaheim's first pick last year. 49 goals in 48 games so far... |

What about Martin and Brent Johnson and TK for Saad and Viktor Stalberg. It seemed like when Toews and others were on IR, Stalberg stepped up for them in a big way. |

That's way too much going to Chicago imo. |

I know of him, but have not been following him. That is impressive.
One of the players in the Blues/Avs trade I wrote about yesterday Ty Rattie is leading that league in scoring. Blues are in good shape with that trade. |

If we could get Gill from the Habs for a 2nd, would that help it any? |

I don't see what one has to do with the other other than filling out the roster. I just think TK and Stalberg are a wash. So it basically comes down to Martin and Johnson for Saad. Regardless, Johnny isn't the answer to Chicago's goalie troubles. |

Not sure about that. Backup goalie; third liner not playing well and a DMan that needs to be cleared to make cap room for Neal resigning.
I value Stahlberg alot more than I do Kennedy. Saad would be our best forward prospect IMO. |

The way I look at it would be Martin and Johnson for Saad and the money to resign Neal.

Whatever happened to that Pens prospect Casey Zapatol. I heard he tore up the WHL, then the last I heard he got cut from the Nailers? |

Michalek has been just as bad as Martin, and he makes 4 million a year cap hit wise. never hear anybody talk about how bad he is etc..
Z minus 10
Martin minus 7
Z 6 points
Martin 18 points
Z 21 giveaways, 5 takeaways
Martin 23 giveaways, 20 takeaways
just saying, Martin has been bad, then so has Z..
both these guys need to step it up and do better.
i love reading how bad Martin is, then in the same blog talk about trading him. if he has been bad and not deserving of his 5 million cap hit, what team would want to trade for him? cracks me the f-up when i read that stuff.. do better!!
i wonder if Martin's cap hit was 4 million, would it be ok for his numbers to be what they are, just like Z? LOL |

Kennedy had 21 goals and 45 points last year, Stalberg had 12 goals and 24 points. Granted Kennedy is having a bad year, but on the flip side I could score playing with Kane and Toews, and I suck. If you plugged Stalberg into Kennedy's place in the line up I don't think it would be an upgrade. |

The only reason Kennedy got the numbers he did last year was because of the playing time he recieved and top line power play minutes he gobbled up due to the rash of injuries. If you look this year, (and every other year except for last year) his minutes and production are down.
Last year was the exception, rather than the norm. He is payed way more than he is worth given his true history |

The MASH unit that made up the blueline for a large part of the season didn't help anyone's numbers. The fact that the D-men are being relied up on to step up into the play more in the absence of more productive forwards is another damning factor for their stats. While they haven't been great, being asked to do less should make them better. Hopefully that happens when Staal and Crosby come back.

Z has been bad as of late, but prior to that I think he has been better. That pairing is not working at all at the moment.
I would certainly take Stalberg over Kennedy. Now in fairness I haven't seen a ton of Stalberg, but the last game the Pens played the hawks he was a force. |
