Something tells me that JT doesn't care what anyone else gets paid. Especially if said player/s will help the team win.

Jt was also coming off his entry deal. In 6 years he'll get paid more than he will be next year. He signed long term at a fair number and I also think he just wins to win. He won't care about other contracts on the team until its his turn again

I agree with most of the stuff you've said in this thread, I just don't see how that is any different than Ehrhoff or Paul Martin? We offered them both bigger contracts than they accepted.
- eichiefs9

I don't know about Martin, but the Islanders didn't offer Ehrhoff more money. He's making $10m this year and $18m in his first two years. Maybe the Isles' cap hit was bigger, but that's the entire purpose of those three extra years at $1m in his current contract...to lower the cap hit. Worth it? No, I don't think so, but that's beside the point of who offered more. He took a bucketload of money up front to play for the Sabres.

I know Martin's agent said the Isles offered more. Maybe I'm thinking of Ehrhoff's cap hit. Either way, it's nice to be back from my 7 day ban.

Hows that working out for the sabres? Ehrhoff would have been overpaid at the 5 mil a year snow offered. Buffalo went stupid and gave him and Leino massive contracts they're now tied down with. Suter may be worth that, or he could be a wade redden. I applauded snow for not offering what buffalo did, and the fact remains someone will get stupid with Suter as well. Gotta trade for talent under contract and that's on snow. Better to part with assets to get a real return than to take a ufa who becomes an anchor

Yes, like I said...worth it? I don't think so, but that's an entirely different discussion from who offered more.

Eh I was joking around with someone in the main blog and posted a picture with the F word on it

I'd like to apologize to the scores of elementary school students that must read this blog that I corrupted by teaching them a word they've never heard before.

Glad to have you back. I still might hold the record for my 9 month ban I had a few years ago. I got out 3 months early for good behavior.

Was that the "incident" that spilled over to IPB?

Boychuk is the type of solid FA Snow needs to focus on. Snow needs to hit the solid lesser known FA's quick and forget the Star FA's he has no chance on. Snow will just lose out on the Boychuk types that could help.

This actually makes a ton of sense lol the only thing is that I think Suter is a real difference maker. While Boychuk is much more realistic, and should be signed, I still think the Islanders have to go for the home run.

I'm huge on Boychuk, should he be available. His game is everything (outside of Hamonic) that the Islanders lack on D. So..everything.

Yes. I might have called Eklund a liar and suggested he makes stuff up and that if he plays with fans emotions like that, that his site and blog fail financially or something that effect.

That was one heck of a game by Nabby. Nice to have a goalie steal a game. I can't remember how long it has been since the goalie is the sole reason we won the game.
- niteislander

You need that once in a while, for sure. That's why I never liked 39; pretty much every time he got a shutout in the last five years it was an 18 shot performance where he had nothing to do. If your goalie is going to be your "star", then he has to earn that once in a while. Ideally, I'd move Montoya, tell DiPietro he's finished, and sign this guy for a couple of years to mentor Poulin...it'd be nice to have him mentored by a REAL goalie. Of course, that isn't likely, but it would be nice.

Yeah, I got banned from PS 91 for writing that word on the blackboard in second grade.....in 1971....perhaps some people in this country ought to start living on the actual planet, instead of in Fantasyland.....then again, we still have "supply-side economics", despite the fact that it is solely responsible for destroying our economy, so that probably won't happen any time soon.....but I digress....

Actually, we were talking about where he would play in the line up if they did sign him. Try to keep up; we're not talking rocket science.
- isles10289

Not a discussion about signing Parise? Really Doctor? Get a clue. If you can't see that a discussion about where Parise would play IF Parise was signed is open to a comment that there's no chance that Parise is going to sign then you might be dumber than you seem with your comment.
