Yup, and the Flyers cant beat that defensive system with thier offensive system. They need to mix it up, so the Islanders and Rangers will mix up thier defense. It called adjusting in-game... If something isnt working, you dont keep doing it, hoping for different results... The coach needs to say... They are taking away the passing lanes, get to the net, and send pucks in from the point... Get the rebounds... Then the Rangers will expand the box, to cover the defense's shots and open it up for passes... That's what needs to change.

Yep.

It pisses me off watching them do the same thing over and over last night. Sure, they generated 45 shots, but a handful were good "should have scored" type chances.

And the power play consists of them passing passing passing all the while they are all never individually moving more than 5 feet from wherever they set up camp. They get no shooting lanes.

I would love to know if there are stats that tell us which team has the most shot attempts blocked. I watch a lot of games and I'll bet the Flyers are at or very near the top of that category.

He lost it when a guy called in saying he was a huge Flyers fan, sort of watched phillies and sixers, but didn't watch the Eagles. He said he didn't root against them, just wasn't a big football guy. Thought Ant' was going to have a heart attack.

Gargano is a monkey in clothes. First member of his family to walk upright. I cant listen to him, every time I hear "its a violation" I want to run over school children with my truck.

I can't believe how much pain you guys have to go through over there. Here in VanCity, there's only one 24/7 sports radio station and we're spoiled. Regular guests include Ferraro (daily), McKenzie, Hughson, LeBrun, McGuire, Hrudey and Peca. Very balanced and objective hockey talk.

The chances of getting all three is about 0% and landing one is about 1% at this current time.

Carchidi is still amazed the nets don't slide around the ice during the game as the ice is very slippery. Will ask Panotch to investigate.

you are very lucky. the reality is, while Philly may be a very passionate hockey city we are never going to be lucky enough to have dedicated hockey shows or real hockey guys like that. you will get the occassional host that knows a little about it but nothing like real hockey people. I loved the 2010 run to the finals because it was almost 24/7 hockey talk and a lot of guests who were hockey people.

If someone called in and said the same about the phillies and sixers but flipped the Flyers and Eagles he probably would have the producer get his number so they could go eat some hoagies at primos

Yea. Unfortunately I'm stuck listening to 610's dribble. I dont like current Rock music, cant stand rap, or country, or blues/jazz, and I'm sick of listening to the same old songs on classic rock stations... And I'm not paying to have an XM installed in my car for a 20 minute ride to work... I just grit and bear it, and laugh at the fools...

I understand that when people call a show and talk to a host like Angelo, Barkan, Ike, etc etc etc and want to talk hockey, its their job to give opinions but It just drives me nuts when they talk out of their asses.

If you have an auxiliary input in your car you can also listen to some podcasts.

It's sad. It's usually a caller giving an opinion, and then a few minutes of silence while Glen and Ant' rock, paper, scissors for who has to reply to the caller.

So you don't think that getting pucks to the net and going to the net are part of the Flyers game in and game out strategy? You don't think it was a part of their strategy last night, or that the Coaching staff was telling them to do so? There is a big difference between saying your going to do it, and executing it. The Islanders and Rangers will not mix up their defense or expand the box. They will stay in it, and challenge you to get the puck through. Did you see how many shots the Rangers blocked in the last game against the Flyers?

Here's the bottom line. Last night's game had nothing to do with systems. It had to do with execution. The Flyers did not finish on the quality chances they had, and they did not get enough traffic at the net.
