Ferraro was on local radio this morning as usual. He was speaking with two GM's yesterday and they told him things are very, very quiet right now. Most teams are having their pro scout meetings and making decisions on what they need.

I'd expect to see things start heating up next week.

and what if you trade Schenn, JVR or Coutuier plus for Weber and he walks after one season? and I really would be VERY reluctant to trade a kid like Read who is on a 900K entry level contract.

Weber would be RFA he couldnt walk, Flyers would still hold his rights and have any chance to match an offer. If they cant come to terms, then they could trade him as well. I would also rather keep Read over Voracek and Simmonds, I;m just saying if it comes down to getting what we need, then you do it...

I stopped doing that stuff a while ago. Although last night I just had to vindicate my self on the ride home by tuning in to 610 for the last 10 minutes of my drive. Yes like Flyskippy said a lil while ago a lot flyer fans are dumb and the ignorant mainstream media isn't helping.

Low salaried players who produce .....Read making 900K with 16 goals and 16 assists to date is a prime example.

I listen for that 5% of caller who really show they know their stuff and are interesting to listen to but man, those 90% of the callers...........

Awful. So we lose forward depth, downgrade on D from Carle to Schultz, give up two more 1sts, and trade for a guy who can be a dynamic scorer but is allergic to his defensive zone?

Besides, it's worthless to debate since I HIGHLY doubt Weber gets traded... I was just saying that it would take players of the Calibur for me to trade Schenn or Couturier.

It would help if the hosts on that station had some knowledge of the sport and could name more than the top line, first two defensemen and goalie without an intern looking it up.

well not necessarily. I mean, you have him for 3 years at 900K per.

The System is not so much Broken, as much as they try and use it too much. They need to have different strategies. If Lavi can get this done with the players he has, great. If not, maybe you look to get a shoot-first guy after you get yourself defensive help.

If JVR returns soon, you have a "cluster" log... of forwards... I dont think it would hurt to trade a few of our depth players for a defenseman and a scorer..

Once a team has the puck established in the offensive zone, there really is no system. That is when the players creativity comes into play, and taking what is available. They can rely on scouting reports and strategies for individual games, against certain Goalies and defensive strategies that other teams use. There is no such thing as using a system too much.

I think he's horrible in the shootout but his team is unable to get one past the other goalie which is worse b.c the advantage goes to the shooter in those situations.

No guarantee he will either. Would I love to have him? Absolutely. but I am not willing to deal away all the youth on this team. And I agree, i doubt Nashville moves him. i mean, why would they when they are in the mix of things for the cup?
