Wait until the season is over in regards to McKegg. He started off on Erie, completely uninspired. He's crushing the O since he got to London though. - Lohaus
On Erie, Brad Boyes had 82 points in 68 games and then also 90 points in 59 games...
Congrats.. McKegg is about equivalent to Brad Boyes |

I still remember on here last year that Luca Caputi, Kadri, and Schenn were the future super stars of the maple Leafs...
what ever happened to that caputi? - MillerTime1130
Caputi? injury and stomach virus (I believe) lead to missing major playing time and he never fully physically recovered.
Sad story actually. |

The deal involves a superstar player and a few major markets who possess keen interest, the players to dangle as trade bait, and the financial ability to make it happen. I will go into more specifics when I am confident the deal is imminent.
So after the trade is done and on TSN? |

Really??? Now it is the system's fault? - MillerTime1130
if you dont have a good system then your going to give up goals and while the leafs have some good Dmen the system wasnt working for them and they would get beat and give up goals
yes there are systems, one of the main reasons the rangers are doing so well is because of their defensive system, it works both ways
and you cant expect inexperienced goalies to bail a team out nightly |

Oh wow.. you are that dumb?
Myers has only played in 32 games.. Gunnar has in all 52
Shall we look at years past?
2011: Myers 80 games - 37 points
Gunnar 68 games - 20 points - MillerTime1130
LOL He was referring to Schenn, not Gunner in the comment you replied too. Now with that being said...try this one...
As players develop, the should be showing signs of improvement in their overall play and ability. Clearly, this is the case in Schenn's development, with seasons as follows;
08/09 - 70GP - 14 ponts (-12)
09/10 - 79GP - 17 points (+2)
10/11 - 82GP - 22 points (-7)**
11/12 - 52GP - 15 points (+10)
**Giguere and Gustavsson played pretty horrible all year and the second half of the year, everyone could see that Schenn picked up his game and FINALLY started playing. Before that...he played like crap for a good portion of the season.
Now..onto Myers;
09/10 - 82 GP - 48 points (+13)
10/11 - 80 GP - 37 points (0)
11/12 - 32 GP - 11 points (-9)
So clearly, while Schenn is trending upwards and still having some serious development issues, Myers is crapping the bed...he is on pace for a -22 roughly right now and about 30-35 points. Not only that, he suffered a pretty serious injury that could (speculation - dont flame) stunt his progression and development further while Schenn has shown that he can take and give the hits out with little harm to himself. Schenn was the league leading defenceman last year in hits and amongst the leaders, possibly is, this year again.
To sum it up...while Myers had a great rookie season, he followed that up with a less than stellar year the following year and closes it out (so far this season) with a dreadful year in 11/12. Schenn, while having his own issues with development, has been on a steady upwards trend since entering the NHL. The problem with Schenn is that it has not been as quick as what most others have believed it to be. |

If Luke Adam were a Leafs prospect you'd be telling everyone how awesome he is.
He's 6'2, 200+ lbs and plays center. 21 yrs old. Has 10 Goals in the NHL this season as a rookie.

oh I'm not down on McKegg, love him. Stats are down cause Erie was aweful, but he's going to have to continue to average 2 pts per game to have a shot at cracking 90 again (24 in 13 games now, 58 on the season with may 17-18 games left...)

You can score 7 goals and let in 9 goals and lose.
If you decide +/- is not a joke, you can score 2 goals and let in 1 goal and win. |

As much fun as I know you had writing all of this... you as a Maple leafs fan forgot about a few things...
Myers won a Calder Cup is a big one... Schenn.. not so much
In Myers first year they allowed him to come down from the point and play as if he was another forward.. Last year and still current they do not allow Myers to play overly offensive.. they have been trying to change his game for some time now to be more defensive and well-rounded. He also added 20 lbs onto his frame last off-season (funny how Myers does it in one year and Kadri can't in 3 seasons) which he made well known to have "changed his game drastically" due to conditioning differences needed and loss of some speed.
Its the system
