But you're making the assumption we wanted him gone. I never have and still don't. Trading him just creates another whole at 2C

Maybe not you specifically, but he was written-off by a large portion of your brethren.

I am surprised nobody has said anything about Lupul's goal, I believe it made it 5-3. Clearly you have never been able to catch a puck behind you and drop it in front of you without being called for closing your hand on the puck, nevermind the fact it gave him the opportunity to tap it into an empty net. Between that and Smytty's goal that's a 2 goal flip and a tie game at worst. But Toronto is a much bigger market than Edmonton is.

Darren Millard said during the intermission 3 of the 4 on the panel believed it should not have counted. I'm assuming Cox was the 1 who voted in favor.

I agree but the fact of the matter is that it was called a goal on the ice and there was no good angles to overturn the call, so the refs had to assume that it was scooped, not close-fisted.

There's a large portion of those on any team. They are probably the same portion who believed he has be given this chance to succeed with proper linemates all year when in fact he's been on all 4 lines and all 3 forward positions all year.

You cant overturn it with replay but there is no way you can do that without closing your hand on it. You are only allowed to knock the puck down.

Thanks. I generally dont watch intermission unless its hockey night in Canada or TSN. Most of the other media guys dont know their ass from a hole in the ground.

I'm pretty sure it counted because the rule states that an ex-oiler must get a point when playing the Oilers.

Oil fans...

What D would it take to get you guys to part with your 1st?

... reasonable I mean ... Suter and Weber aren't available and I doubt that Ottawa is going to part with Karlsson

Would have to be a first pairing Dman otherwise why move it?

I don't like the play, but it is the kind of play that happens a lot. You can do it without closing your hand on the puck.

I don't think that you should be able to do what Lupul did which was basically change the direction of the puck to the opposite side of your body right onto your stick.

I don't know what penalty you call, but it has to be something. It just looks like a pretty cheesy goal.

Saying "none" is a reasonable answer. I was just listing a couple that aren't going to happen.

What if the Habs offered up Subban?
What if Anaheim offered up Fowler (also not happening I think)

No to subban.

Honestly I don't want to move it until we have a better idea of where we are picking. If it's a #2 pick the player would have to be a lot better than if it were a #9 pick.

Still wouldn't do it. Neither have shown to have more current upside than any of the top dmen in the draft. Why do the deal just because they are slightly more NHL ready?

I asked the question because I am not sure I agree with your take on the Dmen in the draft.

So I was looking for a good D out there, has to be young so he can be part of your core going forward, and who might be available.

Obviously there aren't many. I'm not a Schenn fan, so I don't think he is worth it. Franson or Gardiner would be the Leafs best options. Subban from the Habs might be available... other than that, I am not aware of any young D that may qualify?

I think people are going to be shocked at just how ready these high end d-man in next year's draft really are.

I'm not really concerned. The kid is a boy in a man's game. He needs to add mass.

And no I don't blame the medical staff. He was able to play quite well the other games and was hitting.

- Lahey

That is some stellar logic.

Whitney has re-injured himself multiple times with the same injury, each time after playing only a handful games after returning to the line-up. The same story applies to Hemsky. There is a blatant history of players re-injuring themselves after only a few games played with the same injury that kept them out of the lineup to start with.

The fact that Fraser was misdiagnosed should raise concerns in and of itself, but out of sight, out of mind, right?

Keep calm. Carry on.

So Hall and RNH are now both made of glass?

Had them to the list I guess; Hemsky, Whitney...

Here's one that I think I'd do: Our first plus for Ekman-Larsson and Gormley. The real tough part I have is what that plus with our pick would be. Two things I'm thinking would be either Omark or Reider and a third, dunno if that'd do it.....

uh yes I would give you Schenn for probably a top 3 pick in this years draft. Hopefully Grigorenko is still around at that time. Lupul-Grigorenko-Kessel? I could get used to that.
