He also had what, a 6 year 4.3 mil cap hit? I dont like that at all.

7 year deal. If he puts it together and reaches his potential, his Cap hit is a steal. But that's the gamble.

Having a commodity locked in at a young rate is never a bad thing. With his potential (as some look at it), that could be a bargain. If the salary cap goes up along with salary expectations, it's a very beneficial contract. I'm not saying the Flyers should be taking large cap hits off of teams' hands in order to let them fit Carter, but If Johnson is as good as he is with room to improve, it could be a worthwhile move.

I agree. I wish they would get on with the CBA discussions.

Well I guess Im concerned with the prospect they want then. At this point I really don't mind giving up a 1st for a NHL caliber Dman.

Reading Eklunds blog about the huge deal he has been following with 3 teams, and blockbuster, and players you wont trade, unless this guy was involved...

I cant help but feel like its Toronto, Philly, and Anaheim. He mentioned them before. We saw Burke came here to philly. We know Flyers want Schenn. I just cant help but feel something is up:

To Philly:
Bobby Ryan
L.Schenn
Ellis

To Toronto:
JVR
Bobrovsky

To Anaheim:
Voracek
Kulemin
Philly 1st
Toronto 1st

So Toronto gives up Schenn Klumin and their first for an injured player who likely requires surgery and a backup? And then who is our backup? Nope.

So were essentially giving up JVR, Voracek, Bobrovsky, and a 1st round pick for Ryan, Schenn, and Dan Ellis?

Ah, my bad. I got him confused with someone else. Still, if the Leafs can't land Ryan they won't be doing any favors for anyone else to.

If Jack Johnson puts it all together, and he has the ability to do that, he would be a star. He has all the tools.
- MJL

Raw skills, no hockey sense. With flyers inability to develop dmen this would be very risky trade,IMO. If the price is right I'd think about it...

I wasnt back reading at all, maybe I like the deal with LA better... Who do you guys think the prospect would be, not Couturier right? I heard earlier on it was Voracek involved in a deal with LA... So would you do Voracek and a First for Jack Johnson

I would do it minus the 1st. And I don't know if that would be enough for LA.
