Boo'ing for the sake of boo'ing seems kinda retarded to me.

I get frustrated like most folks, especially when I do not see effort on the ice. Winning or losing does not always have to do with how you play the game, but also how the opposition plays.

Lack of effort seems unacceptable to me on any level. And if a team shows lack of effort, players/team should expect to hear it from the fans.

That being said, to mock or boo a player who is clearly giving effort on the ice and playing hard and a good game is just plain stupid beyond words.

Not a Gomez fan, but he did all the right things against the Jets, went to the net, created screens, ready for rebounds or tips to help create scoring chances and was solid defensively.

Boo'ing a guy who is having a good game is just plain petty and vindictive beyond reason.

If that is how Habs fans want to spend (waste) their money, then that is kinda pathetic. Would be nice to see fans stop being lemmings regurgitating what they hear on L'antichambre and the local papers, and actually look at what is going on the ice.

Fans that boo Gomez, when he is giving effort, are just lazy fans.

Kind of ironic, in itself.

Fans were actually cheering for him every time he touched the puck against the Jets.

I love how all of a sudden, because Gomez went to the front of the net against the Jets, he's now a hard working guy who deserves to be cheered by the fans for his honest effort.

So (frank)ing funny...

Edit: He's a (frank)ing waste of a roster spot and the most overpaid (frank)ing player in this (frank)ing league God dammit.

Gomez is a huge pot smoker....might explain the fact he has been distracted a bit the past 3-4 years.

I thought the NHL was doing drug testing on players....I guess they do it early in the season that's it.

exactly...it's not his fault he is getting paid that much but from a team perspective...he is hurting them a lot with a hard cap to work with and Markov injured.

If Gomez is the most overpaid player in the NHL and a waste of a roster spot, seems to me the issue is with the guys who signed him, traded for him and continue to play him.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not gonna boo say, Plekanec, because he looks like a guy who brings it every night.

Gomez? Not so much. But hey, he DID have a good game against the Jets, so let's celebrate!

Which is why people make fun of the situation during games.

You think they don't realize the mess they created by trading to acquire that guy?

He's not on the ice.

Don't blame him.
