The fact that bumbling idiots ran these teams for years could explain why these teams have failed at it. Florida up until recently was in the same boat.

See Steve Tambellini.

No offense, but I'm not a Tambo fan as most Oilers fans would agree.

Backlund, Bartschi, Reinhart. And a 1st.

Those would entice some.

Throw in GlenX and a dman (Hannan?) for cap purpose.

slide him on the left side with Grabovski....if Bozak falters, slide him into the top centre slot.....Carter is versitile, low cap hit.
We can move somebody in the off season to make room to resign Grabovski.

unlike nash, another winger with 50-60 points....which I find redundant.

Anyone see Hamill got put on waivers today? And to think the Leafs almost got him for Kaberle instead of Colborne. Another bust from the 07 draft

Yea.

And no draft is the same, and no players are the same. Sometimes you bust in the Top 5 and end up with a Thomas Hickey (no offense Oilers fans... he's not going to be a stud that you take at 4th overall)

Even guys like Benoit Poiuliot, Cam Barker, Andrew Wheeler, Zherdev, etc.

There are just so many variables.

My point was that the guy was lying to himself if he thought the Oilers were guaranteed a Cup in 5 years.

Colborne is to good, we ripped boston off to much in that deal. I feel bad for them, atleast they got a cup.

I dont expect them to win the cup in 5 years, but at least be contenders, they are still missing some big D and a goalie. Should have drafted them 1st in a perfect world, but its the draft and you have to take the best player available and not try and fill the holes in your lineup. That can be done through FA and trades.

I agree-- not arguing with logic. I just don't think anyone should ever guarantee that. For all we know, Eberle could get a massive concussion and Hall could succumb to drugs and then they suck all of a sudden.

Things were looking up for them with Gagner, Cogliano, Hemsky, Horcoff at one point as an up-and-coming team, and injuries/poor development derailed that.

Well here's hoping. I'm a Leafs fan but I do like to see Canadian teams suceed (Habs and Senators aside). Edmonton has had a rough go of things for several years. It would be great to see them enjoy some success.

no, that's what Boston FANS said... there was nothing to suggest he was ever the main piece coming back.

SCOTT STEVENS, female dog!!

But seriously, he's more likely a Robyn Regehr type. And that's fine by me.

Dreger suggested that Chia was pushing him and Caron and Nonis was pushing for Joe.
