Criticizing Giroux is now where things are going.... Hilarious.

Let's all criticize Giroux, and defend Carle, Shelley, and Bryzgalov at every turn.

- PLindbergh31

Girouox deserves criticism. Without a doubt. Here what should happen. Let's criticize every player who deserves it, instead of just one or two, and ignore the rest. It's what an informed fan does.

I don't think anyone has been defending Bryz at every turn. I think people are just annoyed when people try to place an entire loss on the goalie's shoulder. Just like people want to point out the Flyers' record with Shelley in the lineup and say that he's a direct influence in the record.

People love to pick and choose stats to support their argument, but rarely look at the big picture. We know that Bryz let in a few soft goals yesterday, and he was brought in to erase those back-breakers. For that, he should be criticized. But to say he lost the game is more or less stating that you know very little about the game of hockey and are complacent with making the most simplistic analysis in order to avoid criticizing the team as a whole.

where should they be then?? it wasnt like carle was being hounded by a ranger... go back and look at that play it was horrible play by carle im not bashing carle in any way he just made a horrible play it happens but u cant stick up for the guy i know u love the guy but cmon that was a bad play it happens... you can deflect the blame to his linemates on that... turnover at the blue lines will always kill you for this reason everyone is goin a different direction or standing still... goes for both blue line.. Carle was at the top of the circle so how the heck are they not suppose to be in the neutral zone and if Coutter was goin for a line change then he def should have tried to make that pass
- Slammed81

they should've slipped into a full court press, then convert it into a 1-3-1 zone...after that stick to a 2-1-2. I will provide film study and x's and o's diagrams.

Didn't Henrik get a stick on that?
- funmaster18

Nope. That was Schenn. Giroux missed on a wide open net long before the Gaborik goal.

He also whiffed on an empty net on Saturday, when it was 1-0 Devils.

Good thing Giroux isn't considered a "money player".

The last post you said you knew where they should be. I've made numerous posts criticizing Carle for his decision on that play. I know what's supposed ot happen on that play. Watch the Rangers play, they'll show you how to support the puck.

If carle is going to be a top pair dman he needs to get stronger on the puck and learn how to shoot harder

That's obvious, but it doesn't mean I can't be frustrated with a goalie signed for 9 years. I have never once said the whole team doesn't need to play better. I'm talking about Bryz here and that's it, because he's been the most inconsistent, IMO.
- funmaster18

Do you think that anybody isn't frustrated with Bryzgalov? The thing is, I'm just as frustrated with Giroux blowing assignments over the past few weeks, guys who should be avoiding dumb, rookie mistakes like Coburn and Meszaros make them over and again, frustrated with Jagr trying to stickhandle through four guys and lose the puck at the blue line...There's a lot to be frustrated about from this weekend.

Do you think I'm not frustrated with Bryzgalov, and his play yesterday? Like I said, you can focus on who you want. Doesn't mean I have to ahve the same focus.

This quote basically says it all.....

“It didn’t go our way,” Timonen added. Then, when asked what he thought the difference was in the game, Timonen quietly but just as quickly responded, “the goalie.”

I guess Kimmo Timonen isn't as well informed about hockey as all the arm chair quarterbacks who post on HockeyBuzz.

Who's played worse this year? Giroux or Bryz? I think we can all say Bryz and that's why he's getting the focus of being the issue. Giroux had a tough month following a concussion. I expected him to struggle. Not to mention his first line winger, Jagr, has been in and out of the lineup every week it seems.

Giroux is battling through a tough spot. It's the first year he's had to be a number 1 center and leader on this team. He's very young.

The rangers didnt make that pass all game.. i'll agree with you that the flyers need to do a better job of supporttin the puck but thats kinda hard on that play... im not gonna blame any of them for the dumb pass like i said it happens from time to time im not gonna sit here and say he sucks, hes played well this year

I'm not asking you to. I just asked you if Bryz was brought in to make those kind of saves.

So because Bryzgalov has played worse we ignore everything else? Like I said, that's your choice.

No, it isn't kinda hard on that play. It's not hard at all. Forwards don't beling on the offensive side of the red line before the puck has even left the defensive zone. That's hanging out for home run passes.

i'll eventually get to the standard carle bashing if homer doesn't change things
