Honestly i think the flyers should be sellers this year.iwould trade kimmo, briere, bryz if possible.i think kimmo, and briere could get a good return from a real contending team.

Schultz was the ultimate hair puller.

He succeeded as a fighter because of the 70's long hair phase, only reason.

No, he was brought to Philadelphia and paid 10 million dollars to be worse than Boucher was.

I think it's dumb to keep giving Bryz a pass. Has it been the team's fault all year that Bryz has played below expectations? Is it not ok to call him out with 3 months left in the season when he hasn't stolen a game yet?
- funmaster18

Bryz has not been given a pass. He's got his own players throwing him under the bus, a head coach that won't hardly ever let him start 3 straight. And a fanbase that's been on him since the preseason games.

It really isn't Bryzgalov's job though to worry about the cross ice pass. It's his defense that has to worry about that.

He needs to hug the post. That's his job, if he does that the goal doesn't go in.

What frustrates the fans is this guy was brought in to stop those kinds of Boucher, Nittymaki types of sinkers. Soft goals happen to the best of them. He's given up too many, big contract or not. He needs to be better. The whole team needs to be better.

- hockeylover

No it's not his job to worry, that's sort of the entire point I was making.

There's a serious lack of confidence in the defense from the goalie and vice versa. As a result, both try to do too much. The goalie worries about cross crease passes and gets caught cheating. The defense gets to running around because it's not confident in the goalie.

Both absolutely have to get better. no question.

He saw that Couturier was back checking and was responsible for Del Zotto. MAB was concerned with not letting a pass get through to the far side, which was his man. Could he have spun around and faced both Rangers like a true 2 on 1, maybe. But he was also in good position to clear away any rebound of which there should have been one on that play imo.
- rockychocbill

Couturier was going for a line change before the puck was even out of the Flyers zone. The mistake Bourdon made is he didn't give Carle a safety outlet after the D to D pass to Carle. But Carle could have erased it all by making a simple chip off the wall or glass out to Center ice. The other two Forwards were on the offensive side of the red line, when the puck was still in the Flyers defensive zone.
Remember Laviolette's statements about leaving guys vulnerable? There you go. It echoes Bill's statements today, and mine yesterday after the game, about supporting the puck, and playing as a 5 man unit. And not being far too agressive on the offensive side of the puck.

It really amazes me that a guy who was brought here to be the solution has been more the problem. And the fact that people continue to defend the guy is mind boggling.

The people saying Sestito didn't pull hair and was just trying to pry off the helmet, you aren't paying attention. Helmet is ripped off at :33. At :42, Sestito uses his right hand to pull the front of Prust's hair backward to pry Prust off of him, then throws a left while holding Prust's hair.

Rangers also say that he was trying to rip out Prust's stitches that he received from taking a puck to the face earlier in the game. They definitely came out, but there's no video evidence of Sestito intentionally attacking them. But knowing what a POS Sestito is, it wouldn't surprise me.

Why are u fighting if u just got stitches???
why are u fighting if u just got stitches tho??

And the people asking where Rupp was, Rupp couldn't fight because his hand is still messed up from taking a slash from Eric Boulton. Boulton was fined $2,500.

Exactly.

Bryz needs to be called out for the game he played yesterday.

2 weak goals against the best tema in the East.

It was a statement game and Bryz came up small. did other players for the Flyers, yes. No disagreement there.

Bryz was brought in to solidify the goalie postition. He, to this point, hasn't done that. For that he deserves crtiticism.

Nor am I, but when the goalie lays his stick out across the crease, one can reasonably assume he's doing so to prevent the cross crease pass. He wasn't trying to poke check, he had the paddle down, which would have blocked a pass across the crease.

No need to read minds, just understand basic physics.

- Jsaquella

All i know, physics aside, Bryz needs to stop that shot.

Unfair was what I had in mind.. but dumb as well.

Bryzgalov was not the reason this team lost 2 games this weekend. In fact, he played great in the near comeback on Sat. and was the ONLY reason the team was in the game through 2 periods yesterday. Did he collapse? Yes he most certainly did. But it was far from all his fault. The team (and i use that term loosely) looked like a bunch of Alzheimer patients on skates.

- jak521

I'll be the first one to say that Bryzgalov was the primary reason they lost yesterday. But my issue is when people say he was the only reason they lost.

He still had the safe play, chip it out, and he didn't do it.
