Good.
My take on it is: early season comments + mid season soft goals = playoff meltdown. - rockychocbill
To each his own. I'm going to remain positive and give Bryzgalov every chance to succeed here. And I see no reason why, by the time the playoffs role around, he can't have his game together. And if he doesn't then I'll think the same next year.

Who's talking about credibility of a player? I personally have no problem with what Timonen said. But calling out a player on your team to the press is either throwing a teammate under the bus or it isn't. Regardless of who says it. - MJL
I missed Kimmo's comments. What was said? |

Why Tom Petty? - bodiva88
Tom Petty seems like he would appeal to the Super Bowl watching demographic more than Madonna |

There's been a handful of teams that have had that need. A top defensive defenseman who makes a good first pass, is just as valuable to a team. Especially one such as the Flyers, who have that need. Each situation is unique depending on the needs of the team. - MJL
flyers need another puck mover if they are getting a young dman given carle's status and the pronger/kimmo age dynamic. ok? |

Fair enough. Bryzgalov's play deserves to be called out. If someone interprets that as throwing him under the bus so be it.
I posed this question about three weeks ago, and I didn't see any answers that explained why this was the case:
A lot of folks have blamed the Flyers defensive coverage as to one of the reasons Bryzgalov has struggled, that being said how can it be explained that Curtis Sanford of the Blue Jackets has posted a significantly higher save %'s than Bryzgalov has? Does Columbus have fewer defensive zone coverage breakdowns than the Flyers do? Hard for me to imagine the worst team in the NHL would be better defensively than a top 10 team. - PLindbergh31
I dont know, but JVR for Sanford |

If he poops himself during the playoffs after what has been a disgrace of a regular season to this point, it's going to be open season.
Can you imagine the circus it would be if Bobrovsky starts game 2 or 3 of a playoff series. |

Mason and Sanford have played the same amount of games for the same team. One has a .918 SV% and the other has a .881%. How is that possible? That'll answer your question.

Who has said they don't need another puck mover? I'm pretty sure that's why most people are interested in Suter and or Weber.

And it should be open Season if Bryzgalov plays poorly in the playoffs. He will deserve it. But I will still look at it objectively, and give criticism on every player who deserves it. Not just who I choose to single out.

It doesn't answer my question. What does Mason have to do with Bryzgalov? I asked why does a goaltender on the worst team in the sport have a better save % than Bryzgalov does? |

It absolutely answers your question.
And if Mason doesn't have anything to do with Bryzgalov. What does Sanford have to do with Bryzgalov? |

We need some defensemen that can play physical. I wouldnt say Schenn is a bad puck mover, he's got some nice hands but the fact is that our d just arent very physical. |

Here's how it answers the question. Two goalies playing for the same team, one has a higher SV% then the other. Because one has played better then the other. Let's take that same concept and consider Bryzgalov. Sanford has better numbers then Bryzgalov because Sanford has played better then Bryzgalov. Same concept, same answer.

Do you watch him play? Who would he pair with best on the Flyers? What is his ceiling and why are we trading a young guy who is hurt this year and who looked to be a cornerstone for the franchise in the playoffs last year for this guy? |

If you're talking about Schenn, I'd pair him with Carle or Gus. |
