That's what I'm hoping, that it comes as a reality check. The Flyers will be headed for the country club rather fast with defensive zone play like this (EDIT: including, of course, the guy who spends sixty minutes in said zone).

Taboo for who? Timonen is probably sick of soft goals like the majority of fans are. He's close to the end of his career and he wants to win. I'm sure it's unacceptable to him. The guy has more then done his job all season long. He's been the teams best defenseman by a landslide. He has earned the right to speak his mind imo.

It's totally harsh, but if I remember correctly this isn't the first time he's spoken the harsh truth (did he not speak out at the end of things last season?). Sometimes you just have to put it out there, and you're spot on that Kimmo has that reputation to back it up. He's certainly done more than his fair share to keep pucks out of the net.

As do I. I guarantee Timonen is one of, if not the most respected guys in the Flyers room, and around the NHL in general.
