Congrats on winning some $. The spread kinda puzzled me as well. I think the Giants have the better personnel, but the Patriots had won 10 in a row heading into the Super Bowl, and have the Brady & Bellichick combination. That's probably the basis for the point spread.
- PLindbergh31

I would have said Pats -1.5 or somthing, but I expected a high scoring kinda 34-31 game. Apparently the free walk in TD that was scored at the end screwed up a lot of people's bets.

Then we should also be talking about how Giroux posted one with a wide open net and how Carle let Gaborik get that puck. This place really is Hell for goalies sometimes.

I will never figure out what Carle was thinking on that turnover, just dreadful.

Giroux seemed to be bored with open nets this weekend.

The Patriots beat two teams at home.

The Broncos who have no offense and an average defense at the end of the year.

The Ravens who play good defense but offense struggled down the stretch.

The NYG beat Atlanta, GB, and SF who were all playing good ball. The Giants should of been the favorites but the overall record had to play a role in that line.

- stveshdy

Overall record, coupled with the Giants underachieving in the regular season.

What a disgrace, the Madonna halftime show rating did a better rating than the game.

Did we not bring in Bryz to make those stops? And has he routinely let in goals like that all year?

What I find comical are the people who were knocking Bourdon on that play.

It was Carle who turned it over to the Rangers but somehow it was Bourdons fault.

Yeah I'm sure it did. I was in a playoff fantasy pool, and I won a good amount of money by the Pats getting the ball back and Brady passing for 25 yards on the last drive. Although I would have preferred he never touched the ball again. I was scared to death that Myra Kraft would have been looking down on that last pass in the endzone. A hail Myra if you will.

Carle was just trying to make a play and it backfired. I dont really want to get into why he gets a pass or doesnt bc its not worth the time and effort.

Thanks! It was a fantastic game. Both teams made plenty of mistakes.

Was just reading an article and watching a video of Gisele (Brady's wife) ripping the poop out of Welker. Wow. Sore loser.

- PLindbergh31

I hate them. No post game tv interviews that I saw. I hear that Belicheck is a great guy away from the field. I don't care. I was so looking forward to seeing mopey face do the post game interview. Oh well, can't have it all I guess.

And that is the point.

We aren't being hard on Bryz because of shots that he had no chance at or maybe had a shot at.

Our complaint is that he allowed 2 goals that he shouldn't have in a money game. A statement game.

Bryz was brought in to stop this nonsense.

yeah he is a rental which sucks because I think he'd be a perfect fit for a couple years.

Goose and Regehr would be exactly what the doctor ordered for the Flyers going forward for a couple years IMO

- Buts16

Id love to have both. Salary cap would prevent that from happening though.

Now Goose and Bryan Allen? Thats probably a bit more realistic. Both can be acquired at the deadline.

I'm all for making "minor" adjustments at the deadline, if any at all. I dont want to see this team trade away picks and players for a quick fix + unrealistic cup run. I think thats the wide-spread mantra throughout the fan base.

However, Allen and Gaustad are two guys that could be here for awhile. I think this team could really utilize Gaustad in-particular. We haven't had a guy who can win face-offs like him in god knows how long. Allen obviously solidifies the d-core, and would be a great compliment to Matt Carles game IMO.

It was a terrible pass by Carle and mostly his fault but Bourdon just stood still like a statue and didnt help his partner out at all. I dont blame Bourdon but you would like him to do somethiing other than be a spectator.

Yep. It's not like he's been our franchise goalie for years and he's having a bad season. We brought him in to stop things like that from happening when the defense breaks down.

Yes, but we also bring in players for millions of dollars to play defense and pot empty nets when the opportunity is there as well.

Show me the "BTW Matt Carle sometimes looks like a fool on the ice claus" in Bryz's contract and I'll change my tune a bit.

He's clearly pressing. He's trying to do way to much, and its not helping.

I think MJL was the one that said Girouxs a -13 since the new year.

Losing two guys like JVR and Briere obviously isn't helping, but Giroux needs to relax. He's clearly on edge. He has to realize he can't be superman, although I admire the fact that he wants to be.

I thought Jagr was absolutely awful all weekend. I couldn't tell you how many times I watched him turn the puck over in the offensive zone in those two games. He looks like hes trying to hard as well.

Overall Bryz hasnt been good this year and you cant ignore that. Excuses or no excuses he needs to make basic stops whether his defense has breakdowns or not. If some of goals were impossible to stop I would be the first to say it but two of those goals yesterday were flat out terrible.

Still a Bryz supporter however.

Carle had an easy play up the boards.

All he had to do was chip it up of the glass or boards.

The gap between the forwards and defense was way to big.

But, that was 100% on Carle. He put it rite on the tape of the Rags stick.

To point the finger at anyone else is to be in denial.

Did Matt Carle shoot a weak ass shot at Bryz? I believe that was Gaborik and I believe that's a stop he HAS TO MAKE. Especially with 5 seconds left in the period.

Yep. No one is denying that the defense needs to be MUCH better, but too many people are using that as an excuse for Bryz. Bryz needs to be better BOTTOM LINE. He was brought in to be a franchise goalie and stop the garbage goals. He hasn't done that to the level he was expected to.
