Not for nothing but I would take Pandolfo over Rolston any day. Pandolfo does the littel things and is a great penalty killer. He plays on the fourth line and does his job. Rolston I dont know where he belongs, cant kill penalties dreadful on the power play and dreadful on every line he has been on

I still don't understand the crap given to Pandolfo.
- BringBackBalky

He stinks.. he is slow. He can't skate any more. He doesn't hit anyone on the ice. He doesn't fight. He is not a face off specialist (yeah I know he is not a center.. ). He tries very hard..no doubt, but when I watched Nino get punched in the face Saturday night neither He or Wallace did a thing about it. How is that good for the team? JT came on the ice after the fact yelling at the Sabre who did it who was on the bench... how does Cappy not see this sht? Your 19 year old just got punched in the face and neither "veteran toughness in the line up" guys did a friggin thing about it??!!!

Pandolfo is useless. So is Wallace, rolston and Reasoner and in this NHL those 4 roster spots could be all the difference.

Bailey played great again.. and scored essentially another short handed goal and u guys still hate him... NOW THAT I DON"T GET!!

I don't want either of them... I agree with your point but I don't want either on this team.

I get it, I get it on Pandolfo..........

As for Bailey, I don't think hates him. But he has to show it on a consistent basis and sustain it. Not 3-4 games good and then poof, he's gone.

He does not score a lot (understatement), but I would argue his taking shifts off all day. He is the first guy on his line backchecking every shift. He is doing a great job on PK too.

I don't think people point to Pandolfo as reason number one why the Isles are hanging on by a fingernail once again this year. But he is usually mentioned as one among a series of useless "veterans" that were acquired this offseason...which is true. Even worse, he was added after they had already traded for and signed the other guys, so the purpose of that signing was...puzzling.
- UIF

Its not Pandolfo individually that people hate, its what he represents. That's why he gets s**t. Pandolfo represents the epic failure of the organization every summer to bring in top tier talent to supplement the roster with. Every year, the Isles bring in scabs like Pandolfo to fill roster spots after the fans get themselves excited about the possibility of adding real veteran contributors to the team, such as top six forwards or top four d-men. Instead, the team strikes out every summer and has to bring in the table scraps left behind by other teams after they've feasted on free agency. Its not that Pandolfo has peformed below expectation. There was no expectation. Fans just expect (as gullable as we are) that the team will bring in a better quality of player only to later be disappointed.

Does anyone on here want to join an NHL12 league for Xbox? All you need is NHL12, an Xbox and to be able to access Xbox live.

FYI, The Leafs, Hawks, Flyers, Kings Blues and Predators are all spoken for so far. Any other team is fair game.

Inbox me if you're interested and I'll give you the name of the league and the password to join.

I would really like to fill up the entire league.

Between Reasoner and Rolston, I don't know who was a worse addition. Both guys suck beyond belief. I can't believe that Rolston was signed to a 4-year, $20M contract by Lamorillo. At least you can argue that the team needed Rolston's salary to get to the floor, legtimizing his spot on the team. You can't even say that about Reasoner. Konopka > Reasoner. With Rolston's salary at least helping the organization somewhat, since Rolston himself is not, I think that makes Reasoner the most useless player on the team.

The guys in the past at least there seemed to be a reason. These signings this year were utterly stupid. Zenon added toughness and was a top 5 face off guy. Even if you go back to Sillinger days.. same things.. he was great face off guy and could score. What do these scrubs do well??? Try??? and why do the Islanders owe it to them to keep playing them??!! They never won sht as an Islander. Cut them and be done with it.

Anthony Stewart (CAR) was placed on waivers today. He'd be a nice pick up. Big body (6'3 230). Throw him on the 3rd or 4th line. Hmmmmmm
- BringBackBalky

Ahhhh? I dont know. Yes he's big but he does hit much. Has identical stats to Bailey except he's +4. And for his size he can't fight. But I'll take him over our Three Stooges.

If they put Rolston in management now an get him off the ice I'd grab Stewart...pretty sad that having Snow and Wang in control has us all talking Anthony Stewart instead of a decent strong pick up. Snow has done nothing all year!!! Shouldn't he be paid based on performance???? Sign Frns and PAP at least Garth. PAP is the only secondary scoring we have, we have to get him signed.

And tomorrow we play Philly, who will be in a very nasty mood after the way they have been losing lately.

If ever there was a time for a call up from Bridgeport it is for this game. Especially if Staios is back in the lineup. You cant expect Martin to play the tough guy role alone every night.

It was a necessity to stay above cap floor after snow couldn't sign or trade for actual players. I think Pandolfo is a fine 4th line player but when you have 2 lines of players that can't score his weaknesses become more glaring.

What worries me for next year is more of the same crap. The isles will be better served with younger guys that have a small cap hit up from bridge, but it might not be enough to get over cap floor. They might have to sign crap to get above floor if they can't attract an actual good player.

As per ESPN -
The New York Islanders are probably going to trade P.A. Parenteau and Frans Nielsen -- or at least entertain offers -- but the Ottawa Sun's Bruce Garrioch hears that GM Garth Snow has at least talked about extensions with both players. Both guys should attract significant interest and garner second-round picks or mid-level prospects

The Chicago Blackhawks duo of Corey Crawford and Ray Emery has caused some anxiety in Chicago as the Hawks head toward the playoffs. But GM Stan Bowman has said he's "happy" with them, which indicates he won't make any deadline moves. However, it is possible the Hawks are exploring options. As the Ottawa Sun's Bruce Garrioch reports, Hawks scouts were at Friday's Isles game against the Senators, in which Evgeni Nabokov let in just one goal. We know the Isles are shopping the veteran goalie, and the strong performance certainly helped.

However, it's also possible the Hawks were there to see Frans Nielsen, as they have been looking for some help down the middle.

I know ESPN is worth about as much as me saying stuff, but just to comment on this scenario:

I'd keep Nielsen, if we can. He's a prototypical third line center. All of the young guys we have SHOULD BE above that, and at least one of them SHOULD BE moved in a package for something we really need at some point.

Parenteau, on the other hand, is going to want far too much money for all those assists, most of which came because he spent 30 games on the first line, and plays on the PP with Tavares. The problem isn't paying him the money; it's having to get rid of an albatross contract when he truly is in someone's way. However, I'd like to see Snow squeeze as much out of him as possible in return; I'd like to think that a team that needs to supplement their offense (which he'd do very well), especially on the PP, would give us something decent in return for him.

As for Nabokov- unless we make a REAL run right now, and are IN a playoff spot on deadline day, I'd say move him out for whatever you can get. Unless the entire organization is completely sh*t for brains, Poulin is going to be the goalie here, and he might as well start ASAP. He's the best we have after Nabokov, anyway- BY FAR....sorry, Montoya fans....Al's never going to be more than Martin Biron to any NHL team...for all the complaining the other night, when your backup goalie gets you a point, that's OK in my book. He's never winning a shootout, because HE CAN'T MOVE, just like Biron- that's what I mean by a "positional goaltender". It works during the game, to an extent, but it's not happening on breakaways. Poulin is the best we will have next year, and having him shutout the entire AHL is wasting his talent at this point.

So they're going to trade them or they aren't. Sounds like an Eklund blog.
