3 solid lines, deep defense corps when healthy. There is an awful lot to like these days. Poni is a nice fit not only for the offense he has brought but for the fact that he is defensively aware. This is the best scoring group we have had in quite awhile, and I like the D corps when it is at full strength. We have speed, we have size, we have grit. I think our playoff potential centers around the type of consistency we get in goal, and whether one defense pair settles in as a shutdown pair nightly.

Well said. They really showed us something with this week. Played 3 good teams this week and well fell a sleep against the habs and still won. Very good week of hockey overall. A-Train and whoever he plays with has really been great to see. Him and Bryce shut down that top unit for the Penguins pretty good today. Kovy has been a beast too!

Figured I'd ask in a Nj board, currently working in NYC but wanting to move closer, from LI. Would anyone give me a few areas in Jersey that are close, but decent to good areas to live. Would be greatly appreciated...

Nothing against Fayne, but Gill is a rock on D. He's not too fast but he's not slow and is a solid, BIG defenseman. I think we're better with him in that spot than Fayne or Foster.. even tho Foster rebounded nicely these past 2 games.

Sorry, Gill moves like a rock. The only reason he is able to be effective is because of his giant reach.

We have enough stay at home D men in Salvador and Volchenkov. No need for Gill. I'd like to see Salvador-Larsson pairing reunited at some point.

Defensemen like Fayne aren't the problem. He is looked at as, paid like, and plays like a #4/5. A-Train or Tallinder -- neither are true top D-men, but both need to step up and play like solid #2 guys for the D to work at its best.

The guy who blocks every shot, hits everything in sight and be counted on as a shut-down guy is not the guy on the Devils currently. I know you need to throw a lot of last year out the window, and he's had injury problems, but he's just not there yet.

Wow, what more do you want from the dude? He does everything you said and he gets 1/2 of the minutes on the penalty kill, maybe he doesn't take a few open ice hits here or there to keep himself in position. I will say that I agree he is not a number one.

A number one defenseman of his type of game is Weber, Chara, Pronger, those types of guys. However, he isn't played like them, nor was he expected to be them.

The problem we have now is the problem we've had since Nieds left. No number one d-man, Rafalski is another one that's iffy on number one or very good number two. However, Larsson most likely will be that guy.

The Blues are the best (frank)ing team in that game. I have only lost once using the Blues and that's playing like 15 or so games.

If you buy older games they won't have any codes and you'll have to pay extra. Also, don't buy any used games.
