What do you think they need to give up for them?
- JoeRussomanno

jvr for schenn +
sourray maybe just a pick
depth foward just a pick

edit;
they would have to deal a couple ahlers so they can have enough roster spots

I think that depends on the trade though. There's been trades that really paid off for teams in the past. The Lindros trade helped greatly to ressurect the franchise from the dark ages you mentioned earlier. That one and the one for Lecalair-Desjardins. Just seems like with this team, they need to stay the course. Build through the draft and free agency. They are definitely missing Briere and Pronger. But replacing Pronger seems more like an objective at this point.

If they can replace Pronger without getting carried away, then by all means. Personally I'm all for trading for luke Schenn if he is indeed on the table. However not at a Pronger like value.

I was being sarcastic and trying to show perspective through the use of sarcasm. The Greater Internet Seravalliwad Theory leads me to believe a lot of people on this site enjoy being Seravalliwads.

We still need to see if JVR comes back from that concussion. He's not going anywhere until he does.
- JoeRussomanno

Agreed. I still don't trade JVR this year. I give him another year or two to prove his worth.

It's on Animal Planet. Bunch of dogs play with toys on a play area that looks like a football field. They had kittens on earlier today. Potbelly pigs are the "halftime show," I think.

Oh. So kinda like the Lingerie Bowl then.

I am liking the Schenn idea more and more these days. Would grow with the rest of the team and he could possibly be another Scott Stevens type. Just think the piece isn't going to be JVR unless he gets healthy.

For me trading JVR isn't about JVR it's about improving the team. Right now I see this as a top heavy team in terms of Forwards. IMO the only problem with JVR is he's banged up. Before the injuries he was on pace to break 30 goals. I would like to see him play with a little more snarl but that's just personal Preference.

That's the main reason to go with a Schenn type guy. Young enough to grow with the rest of the kids and be a big piece moving forward

It's not so much trading JvR as it is improving the team. If the deal doesn't improve the team, don't make it.

I would love Souray. If he's healthy, then that's a perfect situation for us.

Yeah, I get that. If TO makes an overwhelming offer for JVR and it makes the team better, do it. But don't expect ANYONE to sign long-term with this team ever again.

Not really liking what I've heard of the new VH album so far. Just sounds like they're forcing it too much. I'll have to listen to the previews some more and see it anything starts to grab me.

Yea a month ago I was all about getting weber etc. But ugh if we are gonna go young (not that weber is old clearly he's not) then let's do it right, I can wait 2 0r three more years for the parade. But we gave up on two good players last year to reshape this team. Let's not stray off the path 6 mos later and totally seravalli ourselves doing it.

Is that a bad thing?

I think that people will look at the Carter and Richards situations a little differently than JvR.

Heh. Perhaps not.

As to your second sentence, I think you overestimate people.

I'm not anti-Weber...I'm anti trading JvR, Schenn/Couturier, 2 1st rounders + for him.

OK, players considering signing here.

Wade Redden got buried in Hartford. Didn't stop Gaborik or Richards from signing in NY

that's probably what it's going to take for us to get him though. If it is then yes I am against that as well. Especially since I am really liking what Schenn and Couturier have shown this year, they have so much more room to grow.

If the price for Ryan Suter is a good roster player, an A and B prospect and a first, Weber will cost an arm, leg and a left teste

Weber hasn't made Nashville a serious Cup contender. And I believe with what we would have to give up to get him, we would be more Nashville in the aftermath.
