I disagree...a healthy Pronger is worth at least 5 more points in their season right now. What do you know right on par with those teams. Those teams aren't world beaters

I'm not talking about points in the standings. You can arbitrarily add whatever amount of points you want to the standings.

Team defense is the biggest difference.

Not sure huh? If your measuring the Flyers versus the Rangers, today is a good place to start. As well as the previous games the Flyers have played the Rangers.

I know, Pronger wasn't there.

No, a team playing well defensively in front of the goalie is also a huge difference.

The Rangers are not as talented as the Flyers overall, but they play their system a hell of a lot better than the Flyers do. They consistently outwork the Flyers. This is the bottom, bottom line.

Ah. The hardest concept to grok in Philadelphia.

At the very least. I'm more convinced then ever that you have to play well defensively first, and create offense off of it. Rather then the other way around.

The Flyers also have some very key pieces out of the line-up and are dressing a ton of rookies.

Part of executing a system comes from experience and learning how to win when the systems break down.

The Flyers wouldn't have lost a point if they would have Pronger and Leighton in net

That's definitely part of it. That's one reason why I'm not overly concerned. I don't favor the Flyers style of play. But they will get better, as the young players evolve.

Regardless of style, they have to play better defensively. I wouldn't mind seeing Laviolette tweak things to make the system a little more conservative to help in that regard, but even then, breakdowns are going to kill you when you make the kind of mistakes the Flyers made this weekend.

The whole weekend should be a good learning experience.

Watching this team grow as a group will be something for the next few years.

Look at Wayne Simmonds. He's playing his ass off. A beast along the wall, battling for pucks. Going to the net. And what do you know, he's becoming a goal scorer. Because he's playing the game the right way.

It wasn't as bad as yesterday, but breakdowns here and there killed them. They will learn from this weekend.

No, I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be-drinking my buddy Lou's beer and trying not to spill dip on his couch
