Pooh hoo, the Flyers weren't in a scoring mood because of the bad goals. If that's the case, then this team isn't worth a dam. The Flyers braintrust isn't that narrow minded. Neither is the Coach. If they were, they'd be posting on Hockeybuzz instead of being where they are.
- MJL

You are right poo hoo if slop gets this team down but those things have an impact. Especially on this team. The Flyers, in my mind, are fragile. Their big cheese is out and the lineup is a revolving door. I think they're struggling for an identity. That all feeds in to overall team play. From the front office to Hockeybuzz would be a tragic fall.

He did come off injury but his biggest problem is our coach. He is in the doghouse and once you hit AVs doghouse it is a long way back. Ask Shane Obrien or Trevor Lindon .I am suprided Hodgson has been allowed out of it.
- vancouverdawg

Hodgson broke loose of the yard chain by being responsible defensively and scoring some clutch goals. I think the Boston game was the turning point. Go look at his ice time after that game. He hasn't been under 12 min a game since then. There's no looking back for him now. I really like the kid.

Not really. A lot of the problems the Flyers have, have nothing to do with Pronger being out.
- MJL

yea. it really is that simple. A healthy Pronger and 75% of this crap goes away

It all feeds together. That wire contains AC, not DC from the Goalie on out.

No it doesn't. Pronger can't be on the ice for the entire game. He would make an impact, no doubt. But it is a team game. One player can't fix it.

Just to be clear, you do know that Bryzgalov wasn't in net for that right?
- JoeRussomanno

the last 5 games I was feeling the vibes, he was coming on, the save % was ugh climbing up to .90% & I was ever so happy, that Gaborik goal was the worst one & really got to me.

The Flyers are just not very consistent defensively as a team and thats been the main reason for their struggles. Their a good enough team to compete but for them to be a legitimate contender I dont see it this year. This team would need to make some changes and the goalie would have to be on fire for them to make a serious run in the playoffs.

Think it's any accident that once a player starts playing well defensively, that offense follows?

He has been just meh since the injury so depends on the rest of the season. Right now he is playing like a number 6D
- vancouverdawg

He's probably not back to 100% yet. Still a +3 since his return. Quite frankly he may not want to come back and face more Marchand type BS in the NHL. He may be happy to go home and finish (no pun intended, lol) his career there. Wouldn't surprise me.

Hodgson had a good defensive game in Jr .I think a lot of the problems was his injury and our coach's doghouse. They had it out a few times. In fairness he is now earning his spot on the team.

None whatsoever. It takes patience, some brains and determination. Some kids have more of those than others.

Think outside of the X's and O's with him also. Huge void in that locker room. Remember how they all reacted when they found out he was done for the year? That is real. They aren't that far away. This team has him and they go toe to toe with the Bostons and the Rangers.

I really think that is the bigger Question. Gillis would have a spot if the salary and term were good.

just what #28 needs to get out of his mini slump
start busting it on defense

him and hartsy both.

they are wearing the A, need to start setting examples and start with backchecking

Look at Wayne Simmonds. He's playing his ass off. A beast along the wall, battling for pucks. Going to the net. And what do you know, he's becoming a goal scorer. Because he's playing the game the right way.

There is plenty of leadership in that room. Even with Pronger, the Rangers and Bruins are better then the Flyers this year. Pronger isn't the only difference between the Flyers and those two teams.

Don't watch the game. Go to NHL.com and watch the Gaborik and Del Zotto goal highlights and be prepared to lose your appetite for dinner.

I'd be happy with one guy who can play some reliable minutes.
Having 2 of Gusty, Bourdon and Lilja in the line up every night is tough.

I'm retiring to the Super Bowl but this reminds me of a Fred Shero quote: Success is not he result of spontaneous combustion; you must first set youself on fire. Wayne Simmonds is on fire!

I disagree...a healthy Pronger is worth at least 5 more points in their season right now. What do you know right on par with those teams. Those teams aren't world beaters
