There are a fair few sarcastic bastards in this place. For none of us to have typed that poop, yet for him to Tweet it is just sad. He should really have his press pass reviewed imo.

You don't feel a little worried about the Flyers' goaltending?
- Dkos

Yes and No. I still believe in Bryzgalov, and also like Bobrovsky a lot. I came into the Season with the mindset that this year is a building year. Building to the future. I'm still going to root for them, and hope for the best this year. But this team isn't where it's going to eventually be right now. This is the Rangers, Bruins, Red Wings etc year. Our year will be in a year or two. So overall I'm not that concerned. I'm going to continue to think positive, and look at the positives.

Edler is a beast. He is a very good defenseman.

I don't know how the Rangers were able to acquire all this young dman talent. Aside from the retarded Gomez trade that brought them McDonough. What a freaking bailout job by the Habs. The Flyers will be facing these guys for years, and they need to start placing a premium on drafting Dmen. No more best available. If they can package picks and move up in the first to grab a sure thing, as well as get Suter signed this summer, they will be on their way.

no, bryz is not the only reason why they lost, but he's the main reason why they did. letting in " two awful goals" is bad enuf, but the timing of the goals makes it even worse. the flyers are bound to have coverage breakdowns w/ so many young plyrs in the lineup. that doesn't excuse repeated breakdowns, but sometimes if your goalie plays rock solid and consistent the team can work that stuff out. it's so deflating to outplay the other team and watch a crap goal squeeze in.

game of the yr so far and we had a real shot...now we need a shot in the arm.

he'll get a big paycheck no doubt.

I'd take him over Matt Carle, and I am a fan of Carle (even with the turn over, he is an assist machine)

- Marc D

Carle made a bad choice to try and backhand that puck past the Ranger forechecker. But did you see what Bourdon did there?

The bottom line is that it is all encompassing. The missed opportunities, the team defensive breakdowns and turnovers. And the bad goals let in. They are all equally responsible for the loss today. I look at the entire game and team. I look at each play and see what really happened, and at all the culprits that are culpable. And not just pick and choose who I want to blame, while ignoring the rest.
- MJL

Exactly it is at least the last time I checked, a team game. There were plenty of culprits today. Sure Bryz was one. However I will still defend him in that this game could have been 5-1 by the end of the second period. Until this team starts playing more like their rivals who continue to dominate them, I'm not getting ready to rip Bryzgalov's head off or give up on him.

And I'm sorry but Bobrovsky has had similar performances and when that happens I see so many willing to look elsewhere. Again its real easy to play favorites.

That's a two way street. Bryzgalov is a big reason, but not the main reason. It's a team game. If the team in front of the Goalie plays rock solid, then it will help the Goalie. And vice versa.

I wish every time we played the Bruins or Rags we'd be more concerned with the scoreboard rather than beating the piss out of them.

Bryz's volatile play is growing tiresome.

I know it.

Matty has been making up for Bourdon a ton this season and is one of the reasons Bourdon has looked good.

MAB had a rough game, I expect Lilja will be in next game, but who knows.

They could use another D man, I am hoping this weekend doesn't put Homer into panic mode and over pay.

He has been one of the better D for the last four games now that he is playing on his proper side. Try turning your tv on.
- vancouverdawg

Eff that. Why? Because he's dropped the gloves 3 times? He's done NOTHING for offense the whole season, and that's why they got him. Averages less than a shot a game. left side, right side.........meh.

Team defense would only not be on the radar if you chose to ignore it. Regardless of the outcome of the game today. How many goals did the Flyers score? I only have a problem with two of the goals the Rangers scored. So how do they win the game, if they got solid American League effort from the Goalie. Which is a bad characterization.
- MJL

It might surprse you but I can count and ease up, we agree on lots of stuff. Bad goals swing momentum and perhaps the Flyers might have been in a more scoring mood if they didn't see the slop so soon after the Simmonds' goal. Hey, I'm not ignoring team defense but the true crisis on this team right now is that it's beginning to look like they have a $60 million albatross. Publically, it's all about team defense but i'd bet dollars to donuts that the Flyers braintrust are talking about Bryz first.

No question it is a team game but two of those goals have to be made. The defense did a terrible job today and Bryz had alot of good saves out on the ice today. I dont think he is the reason they lost but I want him to make the basic saves.

How about Jagr? going 3 on 1 like it's 1993, floating his back check here & there.
back to reaching for the puck again like the old groins a straining again

Jagr was AWFUL today. It's a shame too because he had played so well since after the break.

Pooh hoo, the Flyers weren't in a scoring mood because of the bad goals. If that's the case, then this team isn't worth a dam. The Flyers braintrust isn't that narrow minded. Neither is the Coach. If they were, they'd be posting on Hockeybuzz instead of being where they are.

He set up Giroux for a sweet scoring chance late in the game. Lundqvist ate up G's backhand though.
Jagr had a little extra burst of speed on that play.

Wish I had you confidence in the Flyers goaltending. I've tried to hang in there with Bryz. He obviously has the ability, but I'm starting to think he got the big payday and is done. Happens to a lot of guys. Bob shows flashes, but I'm not sold on him. He works hard and has improved his stickwork, but has disappointed every time he's gotten the chance to run with it. Maybe he'll one day be a starter, but with Bryz's contract it's hard to see that happening. As for the rest of the team I am very optimistic. I'm not expecting a deep run in the playoffs this year. I can see the team is being built for the future and I'm OK with that. Hope you're right about the goaltending and as the team improves his play will improve too.

As well, everyone wants to focus on how the rags play in front of the goalie, how many 35-40-45 save games did Thomas have this year

That Gaborik goal just pissed me off!!

I think that was the worst one of the year so far, 5 seconds left, close the post

I wouldn't have let MAB step on the ice again after that
