Possibly, but I still don't think a lottery pick is that big of a deal, especially this year. It's easy to get caught up in the hype when a guy like Crosby, or even Tavares comes out, but that guy doesn't exist in that draft. I know Yakupov is supposed to be a stud, but I am wary of the fact that Russians seem to have a "regular season only" clause in their contracts. Besides, like baseball, in the NHL draft, you don't need to give up an arm and a leg in order to trade up if you really, really like a guy in the draft. - buffalofan19
as far as i know, regier has traded up once...he only did it because kevin devine insisted that they go for myers...
7/8 points, did we gain more then 2 points in the standings during this stretch? - homiedclown
Nope. The playoffs are out of reach for this team. But it's good to see them playing well. I still think Roy is gone, but they may choose to hang on to Goose now. If not, at least Goose's stock is rising and he may get a decent return.

We do have a game in hand on to and most of the teams above us....we win that and its 8 points away.

Problem is 2 fold:
1) IF, a BIG IF, they make a run, they will be spent for any playoff chance
2) IF they make "said" run... Darcy will think they are fine and we will be stuck with a very similar roster next year!

I think the void on this team, and the players we have wanted shipped out, for the most part, has been exposed to peggy now
I think darcy will be forced out if he does not improve this team for the long haul in the next 2 months

Chicken, Egg, Chicken, Egg ???
Eh whatever, if they make it, they make it, but at this point the only certain thing is, that it is out of their control, all they can do is win games and hope other teams start to falter, IMHO they don't deserve to be there, however, if they do get in, it's the playoffs, you never know what can happen.

Yeah playing with garbage like rolston, or being moved to the wing when he's a center really helped his development. How about the minute he played with hard working ulstrom and Martin......all of a sudden his line was generating offense. Coincidence? I think not. Has this organization EVER given bailey real wingers? Heaven forbid they moved him to the second line and flanked him with Grabner and niƱo
bailey is being misused. Period! - kindlyrick
Please. You act like Bailey is the only player on this team that is misused. Most of the team is misused and out of place at one time or another. These are the Islanders. This is nothing new. We've been complaining about this for eternity.
Yet some players are improving and some are excelling. If Bailey cant put a string of games together without playing with world class talent then he has only himself to blame and those who think hes some terrific Protege.
Get it straight oh kindly one! JB has played with EVERYONE on the team. On every line. He's been sent to Bridgeport to find his game. He's played with JT. He's played on the 2nd line. The 3rd line. Hes played wing. He's played center. If memory serves he's even played on the 4th line. There is no where else to play him. He's been everywhere. He's had the same kind of chances as everyone else. He has to Man up and take responsibility for his game. And you and others have to stop making excuses for this reincarnation of Jeff Tambellini.
He looks great for a shift or two and then regresses to less then average for weeks at a time.
You can use every excuse as you like. But its all excuses.
JB got a goal last nite. Wonderful 6 goals this season. 14 points in 51 games and his +- is improved to a -11. Lets see him do this 10 or 12 more times before the season ends. Then maybe I'll agree with you. Until then. The guys a major disappointment. Irregardless of where he plays and who he plays with.

Lol geez, take it easy. I like Bailey; he's a solid player. Star? No. Good player? Yes. - isles10289
Ya caught me on a bad weekend.
And I'm just tired of seeing Bailey in the same sentence with Great. Fantastic. Misused. Unappreciated. Phenomenal. Brought along to young. Needs to play with Mario, Wayne, Trottier and Crosby to see his real talent emerge. Etc.......
