Earlier in the week, so like 16 blogs ago you stated how Khabby had only negative value, I countered by saying how it was positive and to which teams, those being tampa detroit and chicago.
Then a few blogs later , so like 12 hrs, you say this:
Bad Goaltending. Yeesh, don't tell me Chicago plans on going into the playoffs with Crawford and Emery. Both were awful. We've got a whole bag of Khabibulin to sell you.
While no one could predict the 8a8ner flood fest, at least no one was saying we should trade him for FROLIK????
After a morning of troll slaughtering from the likes of whipper, vancity, sameold, and even juice, not to mention clouts himself. what a bespin beatdown, I have to admit I rather enjoyed it. It's fun ripping into trolls when they have nothing but envy.
My issue, is your a flip flopper, a guilt dodger, an idea stealer, and you play the babe lost in the woods routine too often, You're a great writer, don't pass off others stuff as your own, give credit, and admit your wrongs, that will shoot you farther than you thought before. |

Would love to see Stewart on the Oilers, but have heard reports he's a bit of a party animal. May as well just get Pancakes back. - bazmagoo
From what i've read, most oiler fans, would be ok with resigning penner cheaply of course, he played well enough, and we already got a descent package for him.
Still while it is killbot's wet dream to acquire stewart, doesn't seem in the cards.
that second line left spot could be filled with a number of choices we already have...PRV, omark, smyth, eager, jones, petrell, lander and maybe even pecks.
Edit: I just heard ballard might be playing LW for vancouver tonight. |

Blum and a 2nd is a solid return. Blum would instantly be a top 4 defender in edm.
I also agree with you that edm has to be very careful with cap. I think that Hall, Ebs, and Nuge are all going to get 6.5 +. Look at the deals signed be all the youngsters in the past 5 yrs. Facter in the cap going up so players sign slightly higher deals every yr. Hell JVR got 4.5 for nothing. See Paul Stastny, Kane, Toews, Kopitar. |

look at there entry leve numbers and then look at what your big 3 will have for numbers. Personally I'd take all 3 over Kane |

So if I get this right, Edmonton will Trade Hemsky by himself to Nashville because they don't think they can carry a roster with him on it and also retain the players who are really carrying the team. Hmmmmm
Here is my take as a Preds fans. If Nashville trades for Hemsky, it will only be if another massive trade is made. He would be the 2nd piece of puzzle. And he would be a depth player..We would not risk the season we are having solely on him. There is no way bringing in Ales Hemsky would convince Weber and Suter that Managment is serious about winning.
Hemsky hasn't made it to the 50 game mark in the last 2 years, and he is one small injury from not making it this year. He is damaged good, regardless of his talent potential. Blum and a 2nd? Doubtful. Maybe Blum..Or maybe a 2nd..But not both..Not saying another team would offer more, but David Poile wouldn't. He loves his prospects and draft picks more then any other GM in the league. |

And where does that have him? A solid yet fringe team that only just made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs last year.
Not slagging the Preds but they need to make a splash to keep up with the other teams that are gonna try and upgrade during TDL. They have the goaltending, they have the Defense. They need more scoring.
Give to get.

Hemsky has all the skill in the world but injury combined with inconsistency has reduced his value to both the Oilers and any perspective future team.
He is, IMHO a player that, we, as Oiler fans tend to over rate. I simply wish the saga would end. |

You contradict yourself. WE KNOW WE HAVE TO MAKE A SPLASH.. WE KNOW WE HAVE TO BRING IN SCORING. HEMSKY ISN'T THE ANSWER!.
We need to bring in a player who we can count on putting up 20 points in the last 20 games of the season. We need a real impact player. The question is whether Poile will do it at the trade deadline or wait until the end of the year. Management has said they would spend to the cap next year. If we sign Weber and Suter for a combined 15 million, we still have room to bring in $13 million on top of that next year. Assume 3 or 4 million for a D-man, and another 2 or 3 million for a veteran 3rd liner...That leaves 7 million we would have to spend to bring in an elite player. Hemsky isn't that player this year or next. |

Your team has not spent to the cap yet, and by yet I mean ever, not gonna believe they will until they actually do. This is the reason why your team does not make big splashes. They have a supposedly self imposed limit.
Hemsky is a rental with a resign potential, but he is also a proven .8 ppg player. Hemsky in an off year, with less games played would be in your top 10 easy and roughly top 5 with equal games played.
the cost to get him for this playoff season, which is important for your team with the playoff success they had last year. The team needs it this year more than next to show the players and the fans that they chose not to regress.
Will Hemmer be the saviour for the Preds, no. But he is a known Top 6 performer that can be had for cheap. |
