I don't mean this in a bad way MJL, if you read this. I think my point was proved last night. Wayne Simmonds took 10 shots and scored two goals. Take more shots, score more goals. Doesn't make him a sniper, obviously, but I think that performance last night put that debate to rest... in my opinion.

agreed. one game speaks volumes over the almost 100,000 others played in nhl history.

Simmonds was spinning and winning last night, that play he made on Suter was highlight reel stuff. He did some posting and toasting on Mr. Suter. shielding the puck with his body and getting that shot off. The Simmonds/Schenn/Rinaldo line was fantastic last night.

Some stellar work from Bryz as well. Great win.

It's only a matter of time before Sam Gagner's number is retired league wide.

8 points is crazy. First time a player has recorded 8 points in a game since 1988. Mario.

closest comparison is it's like when mike cameron hit four homers in a game.

Hard to believe the last Flyer to come close to that was Alexander Picard with 5 points.

I think Claude has hit 4 points a couple times this season, but I can't remember anyone recently hitting 5.

How does one game in an 82 game Season, prove your point? If that needs to be explained then there is a real problem. Do you think Simmonds is capable of getting that many shots a game, or even half that many a game.?Do your self a favor, and look up Simmonds total number of shots for the Season, and divide by the number of games he's played. What does that tell you? Does Simmonds just not want to shoot the puck more? This is pretty funny.

Flyers team record is 8 points in a game. Tom Bladon in 1977 vs. the Cleveland Barons.

To paraphrase, a couple of posters feel that Carter scored a high number of goals because he shot the puck a lot.

18-16, the Cubs had a 12-1 lead in the third inning and lost the game. Bartman was probably at Wrigley in a baby carriage that day.

Why does everything have to be black and white around here? Does shooting a lot give you a chance to score more goals? Yes. Do you also have to have a good shot for most of those pucks to go in... Yes. Why dont we agree that Carter got so many goals because he shoots a lot, with a good shot...
