Some time between 8am and now, Chrome on Mac broke too.

Good game all around. The energy guys (Rinaldo, Harry Z) make rookie mistakes on occasion, but I love the energy they bring when they're around. In particular, Rinaldo's hit and entire shift after Nashville scored was great.

re Marshall, the flyers also effectively cleared out a contract for nxt yr as well since ford is a ufa. according to Tim, he does have a " great slapshot"...maybe he took lessons from Matt Ellison
- isaiah520

No.. Tim probably googled Matt Ford and got hockeysfuture's scouting report.. which states that he has a great slapshot.

I bet anybody 10 bucks and a jewish pickle that Pistachio has no clue who this kid is.

Bryz made a bunch of big saves, like the one Bill pointed out, but another important one was the arm save he made with about 1:30 left to keep it a 2 goal lead. We ended up potting one in the empty net a few minutes later to end the game..

Hi Bill,

Great blog as always!

Seeing how well Bryz played last night against Nashville, a Western Conference team, got me thinking that maybe his lack of familiarity with the shooters and style of play in the East is having some bearing on his play. It's a small sample size on the WC, but check out his splits.

vs. Eastern Conf. 23 22 55:47 11 8 3 66 3.09 587 521 .888 1
vs. Western Conf. 12 12 60:28 8 2 2 30 2.48 355 325 .915 0

Do you think there is any credence to this theory?

- TheGreat28

This is a great break down. He spent his whole career on the West coast, so typically he only saw each east coast team once a year....

I wonder if anyone can further break this down and show his career stats vs the east coast teams before his move to the east...

Hopefully if this trend is correct, then it wont be too long before Bryz adjusts and becomes that big shut-down goalie were thought we were signing.

Hows the foot feeling?.. I took a shot to the inside of my foot on monday night (dropped me immediately).. but I was able to finish the game. Today is the first day I was able to put on a sneaker with out cringing. All sorts of different colors.

I know that a lot of posters are having issues with Firefox. Tangent Man had Firefox, IE and Opera fail to get to Hockeybuzz. I can't get here with IE or Firefox, I'm using Safari now

Got a tip to clear out your recent history if using Firefox. It worked.

the only way to to get the facts is to get the radar gun. I am surprised, however, that ford was on the site because he appparently has no future. are you insinuating that Tim is somewhat of a dill? this entire post was made using the lower part of my IQ...

I really don't mind this Sestito character. Haven't seen enough of him yet to form a solid opinion but not bad so far.

He skates pretty well for a big guy and seems pretty tough.

Only worry I have is he hits high, always has his hands/elbows/forearms up and that worries me for penalties/head shots etc.

- Buts16

I really want him back nxt yr. I agree that he has to concentrate on keeping his checks lower.

that was a monster save at a key time in the game.

Bryz is starting to put together a string of good games, great to see.

I thought Lilja did solid in his first game back in some time.

Wayne was a monster from his first shift to his last!

Claude shot the puck often last night, good work by him. Nice to see him get off the snide.

Zac was a factor in the game last night. He set an awesome screen on the first goal and was noticeable throughout the night.

To paraphrase Bill:

It was a quality win, from the net out, against a high quality team, that was playing lights out hockey of late.
